Dear DMS Families,

MCAS has officially finished for Grade 5, 6 and 7. Grade 8 students will continue with the Civics Pilot exam next Wednesday and Thursday. However, they also have officially completed their ELA, Math and STE tests. Thank you again for all of your support over the course of the last few months. It has been greatly appreciated.

In the coming weeks, students will be receiving information on end of year activities at each grade level, if they haven't already. We are excited to celebrate the end of the year with students. As we move closer to June, we are asking families to also have a conversation with your child about end of year events and activities. We have let all students know that field trips, etc are earned activities. In addition, Mrs. McGourty met with each grade level a few weeks ago to discuss the expectations for the end of the year. Thank you in advance, as we truly appreciate your collaboration in talking with your students at home.

Our first end of year event will take place on Friday, May 24th (rain date: May 31st). As they did last year, the Massachusetts State Police will be visiting DMS. This will include a variety of outdoor stations in which students will visit to learn more about the many divisions within the State Police. We are excited for students to participate in this opportunity and are looking forward to a great day.

Below you will find information on the PTO Color Run, DRRHS CTE Summer Camp, cheerleading try- outs, and soccer, as well as an invitation to the DMS Gym Dedication on June 1st. Please also find information on the Spring Scholastic Book Fair.

Have a great week!

Students at Baseball/Softball Games

Students are more than welcome to return to DMS to watch their friends play baseball/softball. However, they should take their regularly scheduled transportation home, and return for the game if they would like to watch. We are finding that not many students staying for the game are actually watching it. If this is the case, students should not attend. Games do not begin until 3:15/3:30 p.m., and school staff is not always after school to monitor students between the end of the day and the game. With that, it is important to note that school staff is also not always in attendance at softball/baseball games, so it is recommended that students come to the game with an adult.

Student Chromebook Repairs

In the event that a chromebook is damaged, lost or not working, please submit a Technology Helpdesk Ticket. Once the technicians have confirmation of the ticket, they will provide the student with a temporary device to be used while the damage is evaluated. If the damage is seemingly accidental damage, the chromebook will be repaired at no cost to the student. If you have any questions, please reach out to the DMS Main Office.
