Welcome Back! Welcome Back!

Dear Franconia Families,

As we enter Week 2 of the school year, we want to thank our Franconia Elementary families for helping make the first week such a success! Our hallways have been filled with excitement, learning, and new friendships, and we are so proud of how our students have embraced the start of a new year.

This year, our theme, "Kindness Is My Superpower," is already shining through as students work together, help one another, and build a positive school community. We look forward to continuing this momentum as we settle into routines and deepen our learning in the weeks ahead.

To celebrate the beginning of a wonderful school year, we invite all Franconia families to join us for our Back-to-School Picnic this Friday. This special event is a great opportunity to connect with fellow families, meet staff members, and enjoy time together as a school community.

Bring your picnic blankets, lawn chairs, and school spirit! We are excited to gather together and celebrate all that makes Franconia such a special place.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to seeing you on Friday and to a fantastic Week 2!

With gratitude,

Hi, everyone! I'm Mrs. Tracey Myers and I'm so excited to join the Franconia team! I'm a mom of two wonderful kids. My daughter will be in 7th grade at Indian Crest, and my son will be starting 2nd grade at EMC. We've lived in Telford for the past 18 years and love being part of this community.

I taught Pre-K and Kindergarten for 13 years before taking a few years to stay home with my children. More recently, I worked as an intervention teaching assistant at West Broad Street Elementary for two and a half years and served as a Kindergarten long-term substitute.

When I'm not in the classroom, you'll usually find me at the soccer field cheering on my son or at dance and tumbling classes with my daughter. As a family, we love camping, spending time at the beach, and exploring the mountains.

I am looking forward to a fantastic school year together!

Welcome to the new school year! We are thrilled to start this journey with you and your children, and we have a very special team member to introduce as we settle into our school community.

Meet Ruby, Our Facility Dog

Ruby is a 2-year-old black lab who serves as our official facility dog. Trained for nearly two years through Paws and Affection, Ruby splits her time between Indian Crest and Franconia to support our students and staff. Ruby will be at Franconia on Mondays, Wednesdays and select Fridays.

Why Ruby is Here

Ruby’s main goal is to help everyone feel happy, calm, and safe. During the school day, you might find her:

  • Listening to students and helping them transition.

  • Assisting students with classwork and activities.

  • Providing comfort and support to anyone having a difficult day.

How Students Engage with Ruby

To keep Ruby safe and avoid overwhelming her, we teach our students clear guidelines on how to interact with her:

  • Asking First: Students must always ask her handler before petting her and should pet her with one hand.

  • Petting Areas: Ruby prefers to be pet on her back behind her vest, from vest to tail.

  • Greeting from Afar: Students who feel scared or prefer not to get close can simply wave to her from a distance.

  • Respecting Rest Time: When Ruby is resting in her bed, she is on a break, and students are asked to visit her later.

We are looking forward to a wonderful, supportive year ahead with your students—and Ruby is excited to meet all her new friends!
