A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear PES families!
Celebrations! 🪅
We had so much fun sledding this week at recess. Even with the cold temperatures we were able to make it outside for some fun in the snow. We have enjoyed our first week of winter kids. Students received keychain thermometers. Last week, grades 2 and 5 recorded temperatures outside using multiple surfaces. We then played a tag game to simulate the greenhouse effect. We are looking forward to some more outdoor fun over the next few weeks.
Reminders! 😊
Don’t forget to send your students to school in warm weather gear; jackets, snow pants, hats, waterproof mittens/gloves, and boots. We always have extras if students forget to bring items to school. In order to play in the snow, students must have boots and snow pants.
Staying Healthy! 🤸
We have seen an increase in sickness recently during the cold and flu season. Please remember these tips to stay healthy. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially before meals and after coughing or sneezing. Avoid touching your face and eyes. Keep surfaces clean, wipe down door handles, tables, and toys. Eat a balanced diet with fruits and vegetables, stay hydrated, continue to find ways to stay active and move your body, and remember to get a good night’s rest.
Warm regards,
Nina Willette, Principal
