Attendance Matters
Our school attendance goal is 93%!
Every day at school is an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect.
🏆 Attendance Challenge: The class with the highest attendance this month will earn a pizza party next month!
If your student will be absent, please call the school office at 847-872-5425 to report the absence.
CharacterStrong: Learning About Kindness
💛 Our students are participating in CharacterStrong lessons focused on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). Right now, the lessons are focused on kindness!
We are encouraging students to use kind words, include others, help when someone needs it, and treat classmates with respect. We also want students to know that it is always okay to talk to a trusted adult when they have a concern, are having a problem, or need help.
Family Action: Ask your child each day, “How did you show kindness today?” and “Did you see someone else being kind?” Encourage your child to identify one kind action they can do tomorrow—such as inviting someone to play, helping a classmate, giving a compliment, or using encouraging words. Remind them that if someone is unkind or they are having a problem they cannot solve, they should tell a trusted adult rather than handling it alone.
Dual Language Tip: Talk, Read, and Connect!
Language learning happens everywhere!
💬 Encourage your child to talk about their day, read together, and practice the languages they are learning at school. For students learning English through Dual Language, families can support learning by talking and reading in their home language while encouraging English practice. For students learning Spanish through Dual Language, families can incorporate Spanish through books, music, conversations, and everyday phrases. Building strong language skills in any language supports learning, confidence, and connections across languages.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our East Eagles learn, grow, and soar! 🦅
