MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
CHS Community,
I am writing to share an observation regarding student traffic in the office this week. We have unfortunately seen a concerning number of students being called down by school administration to address negative choices that have been made.
As we approach the end of the school year, I know that everyone – students, staff, and parents – can see the finish line. However, it is crucial that we maintain the same expectations and level of compliance that have been in place throughout the entire school year.
These poor choices could unfortunately have significant consequences, potentially impacting their ability to participate in various end-of-year activities that they have worked hard for.
We want all of our students to be able to celebrate their accomplishments and enjoy these important milestones. To ensure this, please continue to reinforce the importance of making positive choices, adhering to school rules, and demonstrating respectful behavior.

AP NOTES
During the Exam:
- Listen Carefully to Instructions: Pay close attention to all directions given by the proctor.
- Manage Your Time Effectively: Pace yourself during each section to ensure you have enough time to answer all the questions. Be aware of the time remaining.
- Read Questions Carefully: Understand what each question is asking before attempting to answer.
- Answer All Multiple-Choice Questions: There is no penalty for incorrect answers in the multiple-choice sections, so it's best to make an educated guess if you're unsure.
- Show Your Work Clearly in Free-Response: For exams where partial credit is given (like math and science), clearly show all the steps in your work. Even if your final answer is incorrect, you may receive points for the correct method.
- Follow Exam Security Rules: Do not attempt to communicate with other students, look at their papers, or use any unauthorized aids.
- Stay Until the End of the Section: You must remain in the testing room until the proctor dismisses the group at the end of each section. You cannot leave early.
- During Breaks: Follow the proctor's instructions regarding breaks. You are typically not allowed to access electronic devices or discuss the exam content.
Plan for Logistics:
- Know the Exam Date, Time, and Location: Confirm these details with your AP coordinator. Arrive on time; late arrivals may not be admitted.
What to Bring on Exam Day:
- Two sharpened No. 2 pencils with erasers: For multiple-choice sections. (Students outside the U.S.: bring HB or No. 2 pencils.)
- Two pens with black or dark blue ink: For completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams. Gel pens are typically not recommended.
- A watch: A simple analog or digital watch that does not have internet access, make noise, or have an alarm. Smartwatches and other wearable technology are prohibited.
- A current government-issued or school-issued photo ID: Required if you are not testing at your regular school. Additional ID might be needed at test centers outside the U.S.
- Your College Board SSD Student Accommodation Letter: If you have approved testing accommodations.
- Up to two permitted calculators with the necessary capabilities: Only if allowed for your specific AP Exam. Check the AP Exams Calculator Policy for details. Ensure they have fresh batteries.
- A ruler or straightedge: Only if you are taking an AP Physics Exam. Protractors are not allowed.
- Snacks and drinks: For the break, if permitted by your testing center. These are generally not allowed in the testing room itself.
