Greeley Greeting

October 26, 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Greeley Families,
I want to begin this week's Greeley Greeting with a heartfelt thank you for all the kindness and appreciation shared with me on Principal Appreciation Day! I was so touched by the beautiful flowers, thoughtful gifts, and, most especially, the hundreds of handmade cards from our students, coordinated by our wonderful PTO and staff. I have taken the time to read each and every one, and I have to admit that more than a few brought tears to my eyes! Your children shared such thoughtful, sweet, and sometimes funny messages. Their words reminded me just how fortunate I am to be part of this special school community. Thank you for making me feel so appreciated!
This week we celebrate together as a community with our Ghost Walk and Dance! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone come together for this fun celebration, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather cooperates so we can enjoy the festivities outdoors with you!
Thank you, as always, for your kindness, partnership, and all the ways you help make Greeley such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
Warmly,
Lindsay

New Information
Friendly Reminder Regarding Dogs on School Premises
We love seeing our Greeley families at school, including during arrival and dismissal! However, as a friendly reminder, the Village of Winnetka prohibits dogs on school premises while school is in session or school activities are taking place. This includes arrival and dismissal times.
For the safety and comfort of all students and staff, we kindly ask that families leave their furry friends at home or remain across the street from school grounds when accompanied by a dog.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep Greeley a safe and welcoming place for everyone!
Greeley Ghost Dance
Below is a map of the Ghost Walk and Dance route to help families plan for Friday's festivities. Clicking on the map will open it in PDF format.
A few important reminders:
Ghost Walk Route: Our students and staff will begin exiting through the kindergarten doors around 1:10 p.m. We will head east along the sidewalk on Elder, then north on Woodland, before entering the playground through the gate on Hawthorn.
Keeping Our Students Safe: We kindly ask families to leave the sidewalks clear along the parade route so our students and staff can walk safely together.
Ghost Dance Viewing: Families are invited to gather along the fence outside the playground for the best view of the dance. Only students, staff, and a limited number of PTO Memory Book photographers will be permitted on the blacktop.
We've been keeping a close eye on Friday's weather forecast, and unfortunately, there's a chance of rain. We're keeping our fingers crossed for good weather! If we have just a light mist, we plan to move forward with the outdoor Ghost Walk and Dance as scheduled. However, if the rain is heavy enough that we cannot safely hold the festivities outdoors, we will still enjoy an indoor Ghost Walk with students and staff only. Unfortunately, there is no rain date, so the outdoor dance would be canceled.
Thank you for your understanding! We're looking forward to this special Greeley tradition and hoping the weather cooperates so we can enjoy it together!
