Happy Friday, CUSD.
Itβs been a busy and wonderful week in CUSD. Last night we kicked off the Board meeting by recognizing and honoring our Classified Employees of the Year. Classified employees are the face of our district, they are the non-teaching staff who provide essential support to students and teachers - and our schools would not function without them! See the graphic below to see all of the honorees.
As you may know, California public school districts are required to develop a three year plan that aligns educational goals with financial resources. The plan is known as the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). CUSD is collaborating with our educational partners to create and implement goals and actions for Year 3 of our current 3-year LCAP cycle. These efforts aim to support all students academically, socially-emotionally, and behaviorally, while offering limitless opportunities for them to succeed. Your feedback is crucial to this process, and we greatly appreciate your participation in this survey. Thank you in advance for your time!

Given the heightened security precautions both locally and nationally, we want to reiterate that the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority. Our staff are aware of and adhering to all safety protocols. We are also working in collaboration with the Coronado Police Department to provide an increased presence in and around school sites during arrival and dismissal times.
Due to the additional security measures in the area, please plan for the possibility of heavier-than-normal traffic delays during the morning commute.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Respectfully,

Ed Tech Parent Series
SDCOE is excited to announce the upcoming Educational Technology Parent Series, a free virtual learning opportunity open to all parents and educators across our region. This series is designed to support families and school communities in navigating educational technology and resources that empower student success.
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
- The 1st Grade classes at VES have hosted a "March Madness Book Battle" for the past several years and this year they invited the kindergarten and 2nd grade classes to also participate. The students and families from Mrs. Thornton's class have generously donated a copy of the 16 books participating in the book battle to the VES Library for all the students on campus to be able to read and checkout! This is such a fun event to promote reading engagement, and the VES Library graciously thanks the students from Room 101 and their families for their generosity and support! Go Books!
Click here to recognize an employee or volunteer who goes above and beyond to make a difference. Those who are "caught" will receive a copy of the positive words that were shared about them and a "Caught Being Awesome" decal. Please take a minute or two to brighten someone else's day!
