Principal's Message
Hello Ockley Families,
In case you did not receive this message last week via ParentSquare, please see below for information regarding the Ockley Green Principal hiring process from Senior Director of Schools, Karl Logan.
Dear OGMS School Community,
We will soon begin the important process of selecting a new principal for OGMS. As we look ahead, we are committed to ensuring that the voices of our families and community members help guide this decision. Your insight into the skills, qualities, and leadership characteristics that will best serve our students and staff are both valued and appreciated.
To gather your feedback, we invite you to attend a community meeting on Thursday, February 26th, from 6:00–7:00 PM in the OGMS Library. During this meeting, you will have the opportunity to share your input and learn more about the principal hiring process and next steps.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of OGMS. I look forward to connecting with you and working together through this important transition.
Empowering School Communities,
Mr. Karl Logan
Senior Director of Schools

It's almost here! Family Bingo Night! The plan is to a great time hanging out with our OG community, and if we manage to raise a little money for the school, that’s the cherry on top.
Here are the FAQs:
When/Where/etc: Sunday, March 8th, 3-6pm, at the Chill N Fill (5215 N Lombard St.)
Does it cost anything? Just coming and hanging out is free, but you do need to buy bingo cards to participate in the games. Cards at 2 for $10, or 5 for $20. There will also be a raffle! Raffle tickets will also be $5 apiece or 5 for $20. There will be seven or eight rounds of bingo depending on time- your bingo cards can be reused for every round! All sales will be made at the door.
What are the food/beverage offerings? Chill N Fill has a huge variety of things on tap and in cans (for adults and kids). Just outside are numerous food carts, offering a wide range of cuisines. For more information you can go to https://www.chillnfill.com/
What kinds of bingo and raffle prizes will there be? All kinds of fun stuff! For bingo, there will be gift cards in varying values, up to the $100 grand prize final round! For the raffles there will be a range of cool and/or exciting choices (yes, no, we haven’t pinned these down yet but that’s because we have so many great options it’s hard to decide).
What about this auction kickoff thing? What’s that about? There will be a (very) short preview of what on offer in the online auction, and how to get signed up, plus people around who can help you get started! Family Bingo Night is about hanging out and having fun, but we do want to take a minute to share how everyone can take part in our first online auction (because it’s also a lot of fun).
Other miscellaneous things to know:
Parking can be tight around the Chill N Fill! Know that you might need to park a little further away, and if you’ve got a minivan, consider packing it with friends who are also headed to bingo night.
While Chill N Fill is not cashless, they DO NOT have an ATM on the premises, and they may have trouble making change for inexact payments. Additionally, there are video games there that take $1 bills, but they cannot make change for that, so if you suspect your kiddos will want to play, consider bringing $1 bills!
Can you help? You bet! We need a Bingo caller! Do you love being the center of attention? Can you shout numbers and letters articulately? This is your chance to shine! Want to do something more lowkey? We also need volunteers to help with selling bingo cards and raffle tickets, and to check for winning BINGOs. Contact Anne at volunteer@ogsupporters.org if you can help!
Nows about that auction: heads up- you can start marking your favorite things now for a leg up when bidding opens! Just head on over and get signed up (it’s free to window shop!), make a fun secret identity, and see what there is (plus new stuff is still being added)! https://www.32auctions.com/OGSAuction2026
If we missed something you need/want to know about Bingo Night or the Online Auction, reach out to Amber at comms@ogsupporters.org
Lastly...
There was a farmer had a dog, And Bingo was his name-o.
B-I-N-G-O! B-I-N-G-O! B-I-N-G-O!
And Bingo was his name-o!
Why? Because I've had this stuck in my head since we started planning Family Bingo Night and if I have to suffer, you’re all it in with me. Because we are a community.
Until next time,
The OG Supporters
