YOUR WEEKLY COMMUNICATION ABOUT ALL THINGS MURASKI

Muraski Tribune22-23: Issue 17YOUR WEEKLY COMMUNICATION ABOUT ALL THINGSMURASKI

A Message from the Principals

Happy Holidays & Happy Break,

Our students had an amazing week celebrating the holidays, getting ready for break, but also learning. There was so much going on, and it was so exciting to see our children laughing, smiling, and having fun with the staff and their classmates.

The fun was capped off with a fantastic Friday, where we enjoyed our PBIS incentive and Winter Parties. Thank you to all of the parents who made the day special for our kids. The games, treats, and activities were enjoyed by so many.

I got the chance to wish all of our students a happy and safe break. I gave them 3 rules.

1. Read a Good Book!

2. Get outside and play!

3. Help your parents around the house!

I hope they can do those things, enjoy two weeks off, and have a great break with family and friends.

Happy Kwanza, Happy Hanukah, and Merry Christmas!

We will see everyone back on Tuesday, January 3rd, in 2023!

Be safe and enjoy the holidays!

Mike Griffen

Golden Coin Winners: Book Machine

With the help of the PTA, we were able to start a new and incredible way to recognize the students at Muraski. The Book Machine went through its maiden voyage, with some of our 5th graders being the first to purchase books. The book doesn't take money, rather IT RUNS ON PRIDE. Students can earn a golden coin to purchase a book by working towards Model Mustang behavior. We will recognize students when they least expect it! It was amazing to see the excitement, where students get to pick and take home a book.

5th Grade Orchestra: City Wide Performance

It was a pleasure and I was thoroughly impressed with the sound that our 5th grade orchestra produced in their first performance with all 5th graders across the district. Their performance was incredible, as they showed us their growth and progression, but they also played some fun holiday songs.

My daughter and I loved the show! Keep working hard and doing amazing things!

2nd Grade Performance

Our 2nd graders, under the leadership of Ms. Marie Dykstra and Ms. Katie Lehuta, did a wonderful job in their first performance on stage. They treated us to a variety of winter and holiday music, dances, and even some instrumentation. Congratulations to our 2nd graders for a great performance!

Wicked CLE. Tuesday, January 10th / 7:00 p.m. Award-winning true crime author Jane Turzillo brings together the strippers, gangsters, robbers, shady politicians and more from Cleveland’s too rough and rowdy past. From world-class museums and popular sports teams to peaceful parks and charming neighborhoods, Cleveland has a lot to offer. But it has a wilder, darker side. Along the one-block passageway called Short Vincent, tourists and celebrities mixed with bookies and mobsters for drinks and dinner, underworld gossip and all kinds of “entertainment.” In 1969, Ted Conrad disappeared with $215,000 in stolen cash. An obituary more than fifty years later finally told the authorities where he went. In the wee hours of March 24, 1970, someone slipped up to the front of the Cleveland Museum of Art and planted a bomb on the marble pedestal that supported Rodin’s The Thinker. Who and why remain unknown.

Holiday Shop

A huge thank you goes out to all of the volunteers who organized and worked the Holiday Shop last week for our students. They did a phenomenal job of creating an amazing environment for our children, giving them an opportunity to shop for their friends and family at school. A special goes out to Carmela Bryk & Tracy Baker who spent an entire year getting donations, working with businesses, and gathering incredible items for our students to purchase. This was the best holiday shop I've ever seen in my years in education. Thank you PTA for all you do for our children.
