Title 1 School Presentation and Family/School Compact
Each Title I school must hold an Annual Title 1 Meeting in which information regarding the program's purpose and how our school uses Title 1 Funds in order to improve academic achievement and staff development at EJMS. During this meeting, parents and families also receive the School/Family Compact to sign and return back to the school. This year, the Annual Title 1 Meeting was part of our recent Open House/Block Party. If you were not able to attend the event or did not have the chance to view the presentation, you can do so here. EJMS Title 1 Presentation 2025 - 2026 (English); EJMS Title 1 Presentation 2025 - 2026 (Spanish); EJMS Title 1 Presentation 2025 - 2026 (Ukrainian)
Each Title I school must jointly develop with parents a school-parent compact that outlines how parents and guardians, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and how the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the state’s high standards. As part of the state requirement, we need each student and parent/guardian at our school to read and sign the compact. Thanks to those who did this during our Open House/Block Party last week. If you did not sign the compact then, you may do so through the Google form below and/or get a paper copy from the school office. All paper copies should be returned to the student's homeroom teacher. All students who return a compact either through the link or in a paper form will be entered to win a prize of ebucks or other items.
Last Week at EJMS: Thanks for a Great Open House/ Block Party!

EJMS Athletics and Activities
ATTENTION PARENTS OF STUDENT ATHLETES
As we have many sports entering their seasons or starting their conditioning for upcoming seasons, we wanted to make sure families have access to the new system for uploading sports physicals.
IF you have a student who plans to play, practice, condition or tryout for a middle or high school athletics program, they must have an up-to-date SPORTS PHYSICAL. This is different from the well child physical that gets turned in to the school nurse. Sports physicals are good for one calendar year.
Follow the link below, set up your parent account and student accounts and follow the instructions.
Join EJMS National Junior Beta
EJMS National Junior Beta is looking for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who are passionate about service, leadership, achievement, and character. Junior Beta is a chance to share artistic and academic talents and skills as well as an opportunity for growing as student leaders through weekly chapter meetings, state and national conventions, and so much more. Find out more about joining Beta from one of our sponsors: Sheena Roller, Carrie Mahagan-Kinkade, and Victoria Grillo. We're inviting any students who are interested in finding out more about what happens at Beta and if this might be the place for them to join us on Sept. 17. We will be having a parent interest meeting on Sept. 17 at 5:30 for parents and families to learn more.
Announcing 7th Grade Charleston Trip
The 7th Grade Class Trip to Charleston, South Carolina will take place between February 26-28th, 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for our students to travel to a historical location, to make connections between topics learned in class and the real world, and to make memories with their friends.
We will have a parent meeting on September 15th, 2025 from 5pm-6pm to go over this trip in detail. If you would like more information, or to sign up early, you can review the link attached to this message or email Mrs. Areaux at michelle.areaux@jessamine.kyschools.us.
