Principal's Update
October 15, 2024
Hello Dayton Consolidated Families,
As the leaves begin to change and we settle into the rhythm of the school year, I want to take a moment to share some updates and exciting news about what’s happening at our school this fall.
Our students have been engaged in their learning, and teachers are working hard to create dynamic, hands-on experiences across all grade levels. Students in grades 2-5 recently completed their fall NWEAE testing. This is a snapshot of the beginning of the year that we use as a school to make adjustments to our curriculum plans for the upcoming school year.
We’re excited to announce several upcoming events that will bring our community together:
Trunk or Treat– On October 25th, we will partner with the Dayton Community Club to host our annual Trunk or Treat, featuring trunks, food to support the end-of-year 5th-grade celebration, and a prize for the best trunk. It’s a great opportunity to connect with other families and celebrate the season.
Parent-Teacher Conferences – Scheduled for November 6th, these conferences are a great opportunity to discuss your child’s achievements and areas of growth. Sign-up links will be sent out soon.
Book Fair – Our fall book fair will take place from November 4th-8th in the modular building. It’s a wonderful way to encourage reading and support the school.
Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the cooler weather, as outdoor recess will continue as long as conditions allow. It gets windy on the playground, and we had several students telling us they were cold. We remind them layers are best.
We appreciate your continued partnership and support in making this school year a success. Please reach out if there is any way in which I can be of support.
Sincerely,
Kim Sampietro, Principal
