π Special Shout-Out
While we are celebrating our staff during Teacher Appreciation this week, we have a special shout-out to Jane Stapf. Jane has worked with the district since 1983 and she will be retiring this June.
Please join the district in recognizing Jane's forty years with the district. She has made a difference with countless number of students. We are very proud to recognize her professionalism and commitment to the Pine Plains Central School District.
Jane, you have earned your retirement! We wish you success on your next journey!
Teacher Appreciation Month
We are proud to honor each of our amazing PPFE members in Pine Plains Central School District during National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8-12. We celebrate our staff and the difference they make with our students by educating and challenging them academically while connecting with them personally. Thank you for all that you do.
Nurses' Appreciation Week
National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday. We have six ladies that wear scrubs with hidden superhero capes. Jennifer Funk, Amy McCauley, Greta Anderson and Jennifer Heath, RNs and Nia Carey and Corey Hoffman, Health Aides have the potential to care for over 1000 patients all on their own with our staff and students combined.
They are at the ready all day to handle any kind of emergency. National Nurses Week honors their contributions and sacrifices and reminds us to thank the medical professionals who keep us healthy. Thank you ladies!
May Day... May Day...
Who do you call when you have a problem? The Building Principals!!!! May 1st celebrates National Principals Day. Julie Roberts, Chris Boyd, Kristen Fischetti and Sara Von Burg are all our beloved principals.
Principals are some of the hardest working people in the education system. Without them, a school would not operate on a daily basis. They handle everything from a student crisis to hiring the individuals that will teach our students the academic success to be a prepared young adult.
Please send a shout out to these hard working individuals!

It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood
A beautiful day for a neighbor
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
It's a neighborly day in this beautywood
A neighborly day for a beauty
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you
So, let's make the most of this beautiful day
Since we're together, we might as well say
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?
Won't you please, won't you please?
Please, won't you be my neighbor?
Neighbors are people who are close to us
And friends are people who are close to our hearts
I like to think of you as my neighbor and my friend
Side note: I grew up watching Mr. Rogers. I loved the show and always hoped he would say hello and say my name on the show. I never got that chance... Julia was not a popular name in the 70's. Fast forward twenty years... I was fortunate to have Mr. Rogers as the keynote speaker at my college graduation. The biggest thrill was that all of the graduates sang along to Mr. Rogers playing the piano and singing the "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" song.
