Let me begin with "Thank You" we appreciate your cooperation, patience, and understanding surrounding our reopening! We understand the great length you and your family have gone and continue to endure during this COVID-19 time.

We are using these precious 13 days wisely. Our teachers and staff have been participating in professional development and training all put together by our educators for our educators. Each week of PD focuses on a theme. Here are the themes.

• ~One week on wellness/wellbeing and safety: Keeping Each Other Well ~ Human Connection, Safety, Equity

• ~One week on curriculum, teaching, and learning: Learning Together ~ What are we teaching? How are we teaching it? And, how can we support and lift each other up during this work?

• Final 3 days: Staff~Student~Family Connection ~ Meet-n-Greets, Technology Distribution, Student Supplies

I excited to announce class placement and cohort assignments will be sent to you tomorrow at 2:00 pm via email. Teachers will also be inviting you to sign up for a Meet and Greet Meeting through Sign Up Genius. I'm including the link to Sign Up Genius below, however, it will not be live until Friday afternoon.

We've set aside times for you to pick up your child's Chromebook or iPad along with many other school supplies and materials your child will need during our remote phase of Bridge to Hybrid.

Tonight, I want to share a bunch of other documents with you that you can read at your leisure. I'm also holding two parent forums next week to answer any questions you may have about our reopening.

The Lowell School PTO News

This year will certainly be different than any other, but the PTO looks forward to

supporting students, teachers, and the entire school community to make this year a fun

one!

September PTO Meeting: Please join us on September 15 that 6:30 pm. All are

welcome, and we hope you’ll attend to join in on a discussion on what role the PTO will

play in this unique school year. Please find the invitation below.

Back-to-School Playdates: We are excited to announce PTO Welcome Back

Playdates for each grade level! These playdates will offer our children a safe way to

see and meet their classmates. Playdates will take place on the Lowell Ave side of the

school. Masks are required and there will be hand sanitizing stations.

PTO Folder and Communication List: When you come to school to pick up your

school supplies, please be sure to receive and read your PTO folder. Also, if you

Afterschool Activity Camp: Get Lively and Ballroom in Boston are running a brand

new and really cool afterschool activity for kids! Check out their flyer below for

information and to register.

The following PTO Meeting dates have been set for this school year. We will be meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Meetings typically take place in our school library if we are unable to gather in person we will meet via Zoom.

Please make sure your child has the most up to date records into our school nurse. Immunization records, physicals exam reports, and prescriptions must be up to date and submitted to Nurse Taverna before the first day of school. New students will not be allowed to attend school without the proper documentation in place.
