Dear Defender Families,

Please note that Wednesday, May 20 will be the last Early Release Day of the school year.

• Wednesday, May 27 and Wednesday, June 3 will be regular school days with dismissal at 2:30 PM.
• June 4 and June 5 will be minimum days, with dismissal at 12:10 PM.

A HUGE thank you to our PTA, WEB, ASB, and Defender Families for the generous donations and support that made Staff Appreciation Week so special! Our staff truly appreciated all the thoughtful treats and kindness throughout the week.

A Few Important Reminders:

• Safety Drill: May 18 during Period 3
• iPad Insurance is still available for purchase. Please see Ms. Sue in the library for more information.
• Please read the letter from Mr. Sousa regarding the end of the school year (linked and attached in the newsletter).
• Yearbooks for 2025/26 are still on sale — reserve yours before they sell out! See the provided link or flyer below for details.
• Incoming 7th Graders (current 6th grade): Please review the immunization requirements for the 2026/27 school year.
• Please complete the Annual Family Update, which is required yearly for all returning students.
• No Early Release Days: May 27 and June 3
• Modified Day Schedule: June 4 and June 5

Hello TVUSD Parents,

This message is intended for families with district-provided devices (iPads or Chromebooks).

As part of our district technology plan, we are excited to announce that your student may retain their device for use throughout the summer. Your child’s device has been inspected and renewed for use through the 2026/27 school year. Please note this device is eligible for insurance for $30 and you have until June 12, 2026, to purchase an insurance policy on this device for the 2026/27 school year.

INSURANCE INFORMATION

• Here’s a link to a flier explaining more about what is covered by the insurance: Protect your School Device Insurance Information

*Please note: Insurance applies to one device per school year and does

not cover lost peripherals such as charging block/cord, stylus, or keyboard.

• Insurance coverage begins July 1 and ends June 30 each year. For example, if insurance was purchased for the 2025/26 school year, coverage will end on June 30, 2026 (or on the last day of summer school for those attending).

• For continuous coverage, insurance will need to be renewed annually.

• The insurance is only good for one device per year.

• Once a claim has been filed, students are ineligible to purchase insurance again during the same school year.

• Kindergarten and 2nd grade students will not take their devices home over the summer. However, if you choose to purchase device insurance now, coverage will be in place for the 2026–2027 school year.

• Students entering 3rd grade will be issued brand new iPad 11 devices at the start of the school year.

• If you don’t already have an account set up in ASB Works, you will need to create one in order to purchase the insurance. How to Create an account in ASBWorks.

TVUSD Staff

It is now time to complete your Annual Family Update in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

This update is REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS RETURNING TO TVUSD FOR THE 26/27 SCHOOL YEAR.

Any student who does not have a completed Annual Update:

• may not be enrolled in a class for the 26/27 school year

• may not receive a schedule

• and may not be able to participate in school business days in August.

It is imperative that all families complete the Annual Family Update as soon as possible to prevent any delay in your child's enrollment for the next school year.

Please note, this process is for RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY. If you have a child in your family who will be new to TVUSD for the 26/27 school year, you must complete the New Student Enrollment process. Click HERE for New Student Enrollment instructions.

If you have a student who is riding a bike/scooter/ebike/escooter to school, they need to complete the Safe Riders Course.
