NBEL PRETZEL PRESS

We are gearing up for the 2022-2023 school year! The new staff has been in to the building and completed new teacher orientation. Check out the New Berlin Bee to learn more about our new teachers. All other staff has spent a great deal of time fine tuning curriculum and preparing for a new group of students as well. The office ladies continue to keep things running and answer all of your phone calls. We are forever grateful for them. As you prepare for the return to school at home, I encourage you to build a routine that encourages an early bedtime so the students are ready for the long school day. Several of our Jump Start students are talking about staying up late and being tired. A couple weeks of working on this routine will help the transition to the long school day much easier. We look forward to seeing all of our students at Unpack Your Backpack on the 15th and 16th!

The store shelves are full of school supplies. We sent our lists to local stores so hopefully you are able to find them there. All lists are also accessible on the webpage and via the link below. Our Pre-K students do not have a supply list. The only thing that a pre-k student needs to bring is a backpack.

We are finalizing class lists and plan to have all homeroom teachers listed on Skyward accounts on August 8th.

Our school day hours are 8:15-3:21. Classes start with morning meetings and classes at 8:15 so please have your child to school before 8:15am. Our dismissal process will start about 3:15 with busses loading about 3:21pm.

Our morning drop off time is 7:35am. Please do not drop your child off before 7:35am. Staff supervision for students does not begin until 7:35am so we will not be able to allow students in the building until that time. Students will have to wait until 7:35 to enter the building.

Students should be picked up at 3:21 dismissal. We will be using PIk My Kid again for all walkers/car pick up students. More information will be coming regarding registration for Pik My Kid. We ask that all parents stay in the car and allow the staff to help your child get to the car. This allows traffic to keep moving and dismissal to be quick and safe. If you are parking to pick up a pre-k student or need to come in to the school from 3:00-3:30 we ask that you use the south parking lot. This helps keep everyone safe in the pick up lane as there is no one crossing in front of cars. Thank you for your help in keeping our students and staff safe.

Student registration for the 2022-2023 school year is open and should be completed by August 5th. All registrations need to be completed to get class lists updated and bus information loaded.

The transportation department is using new software that creates bus routes and stops according to those riding and the needs of our district. Bus routes will be updated in the Skyward system on August 11th. Please be sure to look closely at your bus stop location and times as they have possibly changed from the previous year. If you are not seeing transportation information, please contact the transportation office.

The NBE PTO is a big part of our school community. They are continuously supporting staff through grants that then impact each of our students. The PTO also organizes Book Fairs, Milk and Cookies with
