📆 1st Nine-Weeks-Parent & Family Engagement
District Father Engagement Kick-Off
We started the new year off with an incredible District Father Engagement Kick-Off, led by Rhonda Calcote, our dedicated Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator. The conference room was filled with enthusiastic fathers and families eager to learn about the powerful impact of father involvement on student achievement.
A heartfelt thank you to our inspiring guest presenters: Senior Pastor & Councilman Donald Ray Frank, New Hope Baptist Church; Michael Chambers, 100 Black Men of Greater Beaumont; Lead Pastor Julian Martinez, Port Arthur City Church; James Marion, General Manager, Town & Country Ford Port Arthur; and Kenneth Godfrey, Beaumont's First Baptist Church. Your insights and leadership made this event truly impactful.
District Convocation
On August 4, 2025, our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mark Porterie, set the tone for the 2025–2026 school year with a powerful message during Convocation.
Speaking to a gymnasium filled with engaged staff, Dr. Porterie reminded us of our purpose and reignited our passion for the important journey we’ve chosen to educate, empower, and ensure every child’s success in the classroom and beyond.
Thank you, Dr. Porterie, for delivering such an inspiring and impactful message to start the new school year.
Collaborative Conversations With Parents & Teachers
Rhonda Calcote, Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator, has partnered with Mathew Chávez, Education Specialist, and Shannon Lang, Coordinator, of the Title I, Part A Statewide Initiative in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency, to strengthen partnerships among parents, families, and teachers.
Together, we’ve collaborated through both in-person and virtual meetings to explore meaningful ways to enhance the school-to-home connection. Each meeting was filled with thoughtful solutions, shared laughter, and valuable ideas that support the success of everyone involved.
