Students opting to enroll in this year’s Honors Challenge should have received confirmation via email from the relevant course teachers. If your child believes they enrolled in the Honors Challenge through the PowerSchool form but did not receive confirmation, please reach out to that teacher directly. No additional enrollments will be accepted after October 27.

Signups for Parent-Teacher Conferences began last Friday via MyConferenceTime and will be open until 11:55pm on October 30. For information on how to sign up, see the message Dana Curran sent out last Friday here. We look forward to seeing you on November 3 and 4!

On Wednesday 10/22, which is an early release day, Souhegan juniors will take the Digital PSAT/NMSQT. The PSAT is a practice for the SATs. It is a digital exam, consisting of an Evidence Based Reading & Writing Section (64 minutes) and a Math Section (70 minutes), with a 10-minute break between sections. Students should arrive at school by 8:30 with a fully-charged laptop, and once the test is over the student may remain on campus in designated areas or leave for the day.

While juniors take the PSAT on Wednesday, 10/22, our freshmen, sophomores, and seniors will have the opportunity to engage in learning experiences that are tailored to them.

• 9th grade will follow an altered schedule and attend their team classes

• 10th grade will participate in a community service opportunity with their Advisory. See here for a letter emailed to all 10th grade students and families on 10/15

• 12th grade will participate in a class-wide outdoor adventure day

This week, Community Council was busy brainstorming fundraising ideas, planning Fright Fest, prepping future forums, and reviewing the Souhegan Constitution! 📝🎃

Retake day is for new students and staff members, transfer students, or for anyone who may have missed the initial picture day. Additionally, we welcome anyone who was unhappy with their original picture and would like to give it another try. Retake photos automatically replace original photos in school services and yearbook. If a student chooses to retake their photo, please have them return the original picture package to the photographer on picture day. We will replace it at no additional cost.

Seniors have been paired with mentors! At this time they should have reached out to their mentor and had a preliminary meeting to establish their weekly meeting time and location. They should also have begun a discussion regarding their project and its Essential Question. This EQ is due on Friday, November 2nd. After this, an EQ committee will review all seniors’ EQs and provide valuable feedback to help guide the next phases of students’ work.

The Golf Team swung their way to 2nd place at the NH Team State Championships! 🏆

Next up: 5 Sabers compete in the Individual Tournament this Saturday - Congratulations to Matt Nowak, Joe Mayo, Sean Zerega, Landon Carson, and Jake Wilson for qualifying!

Our Cross Country team hit the trails at the JV State Tournament at Coe-Brown on 10/16. Great effort, Sabers!

On 10/16, our Volleyball team hosted the annual Dig Pink game, raising awareness for breast cancer. Amazing energy on and off the court!
