Family Update
Davis Middle School
January 16, 2026
Happy Friday, Davis Families!
MAP testing started this week for our Math classes. Some classes finished up this week while others will test one day over the next two weeks. We are really happy to see the growth that the students have made and how hard they are working to show what they have learned the first half of the year.
Below you will read about a few great community events coming up at Davis including our CommUNITY Night and the PTO Spaghetti Dinner. We hope to see you out for both of these in February!
As a reminder, we do not have school on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Have a great, long weekend!
Go Irish!
Jaime

OWL Camp 2026 – A Summer Experience for Gifted Learners
Ohio Wesleyan University’s OWL Camp is a summer program designed specifically for gifted and talented students in grades 5–8. Campers choose four hands-on classes in areas like science, math, technology, creative arts, and problem-solving, and they also enjoy fun activities such as games, crafts, movie nights, and a camp dance.
OWL offers both overnight sessions (for current 6th–8th graders) and day camp sessions (for current 5th–6th graders). It’s a great chance for students to meet new friends, explore their interests, stretch their thinking, and experience a small taste of college life in a supportive, engaging environment.

Clarification Regarding Immunization Requirements
Recent updates from the CDC have led to questions about school immunization requirements. Dublin City Schools follows requirements set by the Ohio Department of Health, not CDC recommendations. At this time, Ohio has not adopted recent CDC changes related to certain vaccines. As a result, all current immunization requirements remain in place, including:
Meningococcal ACWY for students entering 7th and 12th grades, and
Hepatitis B for students across grade levels.
Families will be notified if Ohio requirements change. For more information, view our Immunization Requirements page or contact your school nurse.
Don’t miss Scioto’s production Suffs
Scioto Theatre presents Suffs, the acclaimed Broadway musical celebrating the young activists who fought for women’s right to vote. As one of only 12 schools nationwide awarded the prestigious Suffs: The Young Are at the Gate grant, Dublin Scioto will be among the first student groups to produce this powerful show as part of AP American Studies’ Immersive History Project—marking the programs’ seventh collaboration. Performances run January 23–25 at the Scioto Performing Arts Center, with tickets available at dshstd.booktix.com.
