Hello 2023

We are here at the starting line of a new year. Are you ready?

Even though we have already finished one semester of this school year, January always brings about a refreshing starting point for us all. The starting line can be intimidating at times. Taking the first step across that line for some is tough, for others it can’t happen quick enough. As we all take those first steps, I hope you will keep this next statement close.

“You can’t see where you are headed if you are always looking back at where you’ve been.”

- Anonymous

I don’t know what your 2022 year looked like. Maybe is was splendid and filled with nothing but the best. It could have been dreadful and full of sadness, loss, and disappointments. Regardless of what happened, strive to look ahead. Do not dwell, look back, on what was. Keep your eyes forward and be determined to focus on what will be and how you are growing as a person.

I personally haven’t ever been one to make resolutions. If I don’t make them, I can’t break them… right?!?!? Well, this year will be no different for me. I am planning to “just keep swimming” and learning. Who knows what this year will hold for me, but I’m ready. I hope you are ready to run with me!

On your mark, get set, GO!!!!!

What We're Up To What We're Up To

Still a Work In Progress!

The focus of the next several months will be the MakerSpace/STEAM/Collaboration area of the LC. I will be creating many spaces in this area with different types of activities. You do not have to ask permission to try them out. All I ask is that you straighten up the space when you are done and leave it just as you found it.

Looking forward to the next steps in this process.

What is MakerSpace?

Good Question! Simple answer… it is a space created for students to make stuff. Now that you know, I have no doubt you are thinking what are we going to make in the LC. That remains to be answered or maybe we should leave it at, what aren’t we going to make in the learning commons.

This area of the LC is most definitely going to be the most expensive part of the renovation of our space. With that said, it will feel very slow and very limited to begin with. Eventually, I do hope that this is an area that you begin to love and look forward to using.

Some BIG dreams for this area include but are not limited to:

3D Printing/Design

Robotics Options

Circut Designing Station

Flight Simulator and Aviation Challenges

Puzzles

Creativity/Art Station
