Mrs. Elliott's Message
The past couple of weeks have been busy but very exciting! Next week is our last week before Winter Break and our Student Council is hosting a Spirit Week to celebrate. Please see the graphic below for the schedule.
Our students had the opportunity to participate in the N.O. Student Council Summit that focused on building leadership skills within our branches of student council. It was led by High School students, with the help of Mr. Sextella. Thank you to our advisors, Mrs. Raed and Mrs. Fielder for organizing this for our Maple 3rd graders. Please check out some of the photos from this event below!

Congratulations to our 2nd graders who put on quite the holiday show this past week! They showcased their musical talents, both by singing and playing various musical instruments. Thank you to Mrs. Stilla for once again putting together one "rockin" show!
I hope that all of our Maple Family finds the time to rest, relax and rejuvenate over Winter Break. Beyond spending time with family and friends, I hope to cozy up with a great book and I hope you all do too!
Wishing everyone a healthy and happy new year,
Mrs. Elliott

Classroom Connections 💡
Authors in Mrs. Nudelman's class wrote about their favorite float in the Macy's Parade, from the perspective of design. Here they also shared facts learned about the history of the parade!
2nd Grade authors have been reading about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Shown here are books they created, written from the perspectice of Goldilocks NOT the bears. Be sure to stop and read them next time you're in the 200 hallway!
Our 1st grade authors have been working on writing paragraphs with topic sentences, details and conclusions. Authors in Mrs. Howe's class share what dinosaur they would study if they were Paleontologists.
Writing happens all throughout the day at Maple, even in Math. Check out the written thoughts of one of our 3rd grade mathematicians, as they share their understanding of multiplication!
