Principal's Corner

Dear BFPP Families,

This week we hosted the School Board of Directors and Executive Team. We had the opportunity to share the family first core values of BFPP and what that looks like with family engagement. There was also a shout out of how BFPP prides itself on our innovation, flexibility and responsiveness. We shared some enrollment data and examples of that, which are depicted below.

Our hope and plan is to continue to be innovative, flexible and responsive. Even at a time when there are discussions of budget cuts and reductions in state and federal funding, we can still think creatively. Be on the look out in the spring for opportunities.

I am also really excited about the many opportunities that are ahead for family and community engagement. Our bi-weekly newsletters are always full of them, take a look and take a chance. The more connected and engagement we are the strong BFPP is!!

Warmly, Principal Kate

Bathroom Rules

We are fortunate in our building to have some communal as well as private bathrooms. For the safety and awareness of all, please follow these rules:

  • Adults should only use the private bathrooms located on each floor
  • If you are an adult entering the communal bathrooms downstairs announce you are entering before proceeding
  • If you are helping a class just use the bathrooms to wash hands also make sure no one is using the bathroom before having students enter
  • We have all inclusive family friendly bathrooms on each floor, use those as needed

LEO Updates

For learners enrolled in online classes, welcome to semester 2 of online learning coursework!

Here are two ways to engage with teachers during this semester of online learning coursework:

1.) Families registering for online learning classes are encouraged to enroll in enrichment course in-person or on Zoom. We have 2 new Zoom-based homeroom courses offered this semester. The multi-age classes designed for 3-5 and 6-8 are fun, engaging, relaxed online "Zoom Rooms." The "Zoom Rooms" meet for an hour weekly. Let your LPP know if you'd like more information.

2.) Online Learning Office Hour with Brooke: Every Tuesday 1:00-2:00 on Zoom at:

https://bellinghamschools.zoom.us/my/brookewertz

We hope to see you on Zoom!

Gift Card Drive

Thank you, thank you to our families and local business partners who donated to our Joyful Giving Gift Card Drive. We were able to collect over $400.00 in food and gas cards to support our BFPP family. One student even used her allowance to offer us two very generous donations. We have used all but two of those cards so if you missed the chance to donate or you would like to give a bit more, we would be so grateful. Safeway and Fred Meyer are the most helpful. Questions? Reach out to Erica Wolverton.
