November 2025 NEWSLETTER
Hello PVA families, and happy November!
As we step into November, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for our amazing PVA community. From the success of our fall conferences and Book Fair, to the everyday acts of kindness and support we see across classrooms, our school continues to thrive because of your involvement.
This month brings many opportunities to connect—from family events to basketball games—and I encourage you to join in wherever you can.
As we look ahead to the season of thankfulness, know that I am truly grateful for our students, families, and staff who make Peakview Academy such a special place to learn and grow.

Keeping Our Hands and Bodies to Ourselves
At Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students. To help everyone feel comfortable and secure, we want to remind families of our physical interaction expectations, which align with the district’s Code of Conduct.
Students are expected to keep their hands and bodies to themselves at all times—this includes classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, buses, and all school-related activities. Appropriate physical interactions include handshakes, high-fives, and participation in supervised activities like PE, sports, and recess games, always with mutual consent.
Inappropriate interactions, such as roughhousing, hugging, kissing, hand-holding, or touching another person’s belongings or body, will result in reminders and redirection. Repeated or serious violations may lead to additional consequences.
These expectations are highlighted in our PVA Learner & Family Handbook.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that Peakview Academy remains a safe and welcoming space for all learners!
Parent Portal Middle Level Wednesday Schedule
Families, we want to let you know about an error in the Parent Portal affecting middle level (6th–8th grade) Wednesday schedules. While the order of classes listed is correct, the times shown are not accurate.
The most significant impact has been on lunch times, which is important for families who drop off lunch or join their student for lunch. The correct Wednesday schedule times are listed below for your reference.
At this time, due to state attendance reporting requirements, we are unable to update the times in Parent Portal. Please note that Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday schedules are correct and unaffected.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work within these constraints.

Attendance Matters Every Day!
Strong attendance builds strong learners. Please remember to call our attendance line at (970) 613-7390 to report any absence. Attendance robo-calls go out daily, and unexcused absences for elementary students will prompt a phone call from our office staff. When a student reaches 7 absences, teachers or another staff member will connect with you to see how we can support your family in getting your child to school on time every day. Working together, we can help every learner succeed!

Student Fees
Do you qualify for Free & Reduced Meal Benefits?
ALL families are still asked to fill out an application. Why? The Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program is funded in partnership with federal nutrition programs that rely on income information to support meals for all students. Other state and federal grants are awarded based on free and reduced meal eligibility rates.
Additionally, families that qualify may receive discounted or waived fees for programs inside and outside of the school district.
Instructional Fees
The instructional materials fee is charged to each student annually. This money is utilized for buying textbooks and extracurricular materials for our school, replacing old materials, or replenishing items students use.
Middle Level Exploration Class Fees
These fees are charged to students participating in specific classes and activities. This fee is based on the cost of materials and supplies that have been depleted and need to be replenished.
Middle Level Athletic Fees
The Athletic fee helps to support referees, transportation, equipment and uniforms.
Tech4All Damage/Loss Fine
If a student's device gets lost or damaged and turned in for repair, any costs incurred will be charged to the student’s account.
