GOOD THINGS
Perennial Math Team Season
The Butler Elementary Perennial Math Team has completed its 2024-2025 season. Students did an amazing job in the competitions and learned a great deal about reasoning and logical thinking as well as many important math strategies. Team members included Chase Ayers, Conner Borries, Kai Bridwell, Alan Castillo, Fisher Crosby, Jace Dupuis, Madelyn Farnham, Alex Fusu, Lachlan Jewel, Javier Lopez, William Olivarez (4th grade) and Blake Boyer, Emma Burke, Olivia Cai, Henry Edwards, Norah Etheridge, Sophia Garrard, and Cami Susi (5th grade). Our season top scorers were William Olivarez (4th grade) and Norah Etheridge (5th grade). William Olivarez was invited to compete in the National Championships later this month. Please congratulate these students on their hard work and dedication to learning!
Butler Girl Scouts
Butler-based Girl Scout Troop 10302 volunteered to pack bags at Food For Thought Outreach, and presented a check for $1,000 to help fund the pantry. A portion of the Scouts’ cookie sale proceeds are earmarked for charitable giving, and Girl Scouts are tasked with being considerate and caring, and making the world a better place. The girls were also able to see all of the past "Read To Feed" checks hanging on the wall, the result of students’ AR reading achievements. Pictured are Ramona Fernandez, Eva Booth, Charley Miller, Emma Pooler, Bowie Thurgood, Jenna Kurth and Madelyn Farnham.
SWHS Science Students
Students from South Walton High School came to our school to teach science lessons to some of our classes. The high school students rotated between 2nd - 5th grade classes with different science lessons. The experiments had our students excited for more! Thank you South Walton High School students for making our students excited to learn!!

Summer Art Challenge
Summer is a great time to work on our drawing skills as we visit new places and see new things. I would like to challenge any students who are willing to complete 10 drawings (one per week) during the summer months. These drawings can be any size, but must be COMPLETE, with a subject and a background. Fill the page! Color is optional. Those who complete this challenge can have their work displayed at the beginning of the year (if they want to) and will get their name on my “Wall of Fame” to go up in the art room next year! This is for students who will be going into grades 3-5.
