SUMMER READING OPPORTUNITIES

Avoid the “summer slide!” Research shows that learning & reading skills are lost during the summer months. Studies have proven that students who read four or more books over the summer months lose fewer reading & comprehension skills than their peers who read one or no books over the summer.

This summer, CMS students are encouraged to participate in our Summer Reading Challenge June 1 to August 21. Whether it’s a page-turning thriller, an uplifting audiobook, or a comforting graphic novel, celebrate the stories that make your heart happy this summer.

We challenge you to read 1000 minutes this summer to avoid the summer slide. Everyone who completes the challenge on Beanstack will earn a turn on our new library vending machine loaded with all kinds of prizes!

So grab a book and find your reading joy—we can’t wait to see which stories light up your summer!

The public library's Summer Boost Reading Challenge will kick off June 1 and continue through July 31.

Using Beanstack, earn reading badges, activity badges, and win prizes (Red Hawks tickets, Sandy's Donuts gift certificates, etc.) using an easy-to-use application called Beanstack!

You cannot use your school Beanstack account to participate in this challenge. You need to visit the West Fargo Public Library website and register for another Beanstack account with them.

The Fargo Public Library offers a variety of materials, activities, and events for teens.
