Dear Families,

There are only FOUR more weeks left of school. I encourage you to check the school calendar and read any updates from your classroom teacher for important dates and activities. There are end of year classroom activities, Field Day, celebrations, and more. Please check out both the school calendar as well as the PTO website for more info.

*It should be noted that Field Day is a not a spectator event this year. If you would like to participate, please sign up as a volunteer below.

**Also, there is a PTO End of Year Celebration on June 7th from 6:00 to 8:00pm. This is a great opportunity to enjoy some food, fun and music with all of your Brown friends before we head out for summer! Check it out on the PTO website below!

Best,

Five Things You Need to Know Five Things You Need to Know

1 - SPOTLIGHT ON PHYS ED

Hello Brown School Families!

We are excited that spring is finally here! Since the last newsletter, there has been so much that we have done. We have been working on basketball skills, castle ball, the adventure course, jump rope activities, and the 4th grade wrapped up the PACER. The jump rope unit included the students using short and long ropes to practice their jumping. They did a great job working hard to raise money for the American Heart Association.

All 4th grade parents, please take a moment and ask about how well they did on the PACER. We understand that it is a physically demanding activity that tests their aerobic capacity, however, everyone did a great job with it! Every 4th grade student worked hard to reach their goal. Overall, the entire 4th grade increased their PACER laps by seven laps! Mrs. Pestana and Mr. Dombroskas are very proud of the effort that everyone gave. They should all be very proud of themselves.

Field Day

It is that time of the year again! Field day will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024. This year, field day will be held on one field (Kennedy Field). There will be two different sections for the day.

Grades 2, 3, and 4 will have field day from 9:00 – 11:00 am.

Grades K and 1 will have field day from 11:45 am – 1:45 pm.

We need volunteers to run the stations. If you are interested in helping out, please sign up using the Sign-up Genius form. Please remember to send your child to school with sneakers, sunscreen (applied at home), and plenty of water for field day.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pestana

Mr. Dombroskas

Each year our 4th grade team and the KMS team collaborate to put together a transition process for our 4th grade students as they get ready to enter the 5th grade.
