Thank you to our families and students for ensuring we had 100% of our testers participate in the STAAR tests up to this point. We are so proud of our stakeholders for being present and taking the STAAR EOC in both English 1 and 2 as well as Biology and US History! We only have Algebra 1 left on the Wednesday we return from Easter break. Let's keep the trend going.

zoom_out_map

The final STAAR EOC test of the school year is Algebra 1 next Wednesday. Attendance is very important as students are required to take this test in order to graduate. They have been working very hard with Mr. Hernandez over the entire year, but specifically the last month in order to really prepare the students to be successful.

Algebra 1 will be on Wednesday, April 23 for first time testers who are in that class currently as well as those students who have yet to pass the test.

Testing room assignments will be posted in the hallways and we will be on the Testing Bell Schedule for those days, so lunch will be at 12:21 (AFTER 4th period). Please be on campus by 8:25 AM so we can start promptly. Bring your school issued Chromebook fully charged as well as a jacket because the testing room can be cold.

Good luck. YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Mrs. Thurik will unlock English quizzes once each morning throughout the break for students who are working on their class from home. Unit and cumulative tests will need to be done upon returning to class.

Saturday Edgenuity will resume April 26th and May 3.

We're Moving! We're Moving!

It was proposed to the CISD board of trustees that Endeavor High School be relocated to the McMullan campus.

This alternative has several benefits:

  • Room to Grow: Endeavor High School has experienced increased interest and maintains an average waitlist of 60 students. Relocating to McMullan will allow our program to grow and better serve our students.
  • Increased Capacity: Approximately 25 classrooms could be dedicated to Endeavor, significantly expanding our space from the 10 classrooms we currently use at Joe Frank Campbell Learning Center.
  • Cost-Effective: Since the building would still serve school-aged students, no fire marshal permit change is required, and no major renovations would be needed.

The Board approved this revised plan at their April 15, 2025 Board meeting. We will continue to keep families informed as the project progresses.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement as we work to create stronger, more efficient learning environments for all students in Channelview ISD. The Endeavor staff is excited for the upcoming change! The change will take place beginning this August.

Attention Early Dismissal Students! Attention Early Dismissal Students!

zoom_out_map

Students, as you face the opportunity of an early dismissal, consider this a chance to invest a little extra time in your academic journey. Staying at school after your last class to work on your assignments with your teachers can be incredibly rewarding! This is your moment to clarify doubts, deepen your understanding, and enhance your skills. But mostly, it will get you closer to graduating! Remember, every minute spent collaborating with your teachers brings you closer to your goals. Embrace this opportunity to ask questions, explore new concepts, and build a stronger foundation for your future. Your hard work and dedication will pay off, so seize the day and make the most of this time!

Ask your teachers about staying after your last class.

Can being too honest be a bad thing?

Is honesty really the best policy? Let me tell you a story about honesty and why it's like building a solid foundation for your life. Just like a sturdy building needs strong materials, your character needs honesty and integrity. Being honest means being true to your values and others, even when it's tough.

What is the ACT/SAT test?

Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.
