Mrs. Mesarosh's Shark Tales

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Springview Elementary! I hope your summer was filled with joyful moments and restful days. I am delighted to welcome back our returning students and families—and a special hello to those joining us for the first time. Our dedicated staff is thankful to partner with you in fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and academically engaging environment where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow. Our staff has a shared commitment to helping students build confidence, tackle new challenges, and reach their fullest potential. We invite you to stay connected through our newsletters, parent nights, and classroom updates—your involvement makes a real difference. Together, we will make 2026–2027 our best year yet!

As a reminder, Flushing Community Schools does not allow students to bring backpacks, duffle bags, cinch bags, or similar items into sporting events, including football games at Raider Field. Additionally, all K-6th grade students attending any home athletic events must enter and attend the event accompanied by a parent or adult. Students who attend high school athletic events are there to watch the game, please leave all footballs or other athletic equipment at home. This policy is in effect for all upcoming events.

Just a reminder that NO transportation changes can be made after 3:15 pm. This is the policy in all of our elementary buildings. If you do need to make changes, (including picking up early for appointments, ride reasons, etc.) please make sure to call the school office before 3:15 p.m. and we will let your student know what the change is. The office number is 810-591-8550. Please do not email, call, Bloomz or text the teachers during the day, as they will not be able to answer you until the end of the day, which is 3:48pm.

We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for helping us keep EVERY student safe at Springview!

Birthday celebrations at all of our elementary buildings are food free as stated in the student handbook. This means that, while we acknowledge and honor birthdays, we ask that you do not send in food for the classroom. Teachers are very creative with celebration ideas and can offer you ideas for acknowledging your child’s birthday such as special pencils, stickers, etc. Thank you for understanding!

If you have not downloaded the Flushing Community Schools mobile app yet, you are missing out on an important communication tool. Once downloaded, you will receive district-wide announcements and notifications. This is a great way to know when district-wide news has been posted on the website or Facebook. To download the app, go to Google Play or the Apple App Store and search Flushing Community Schools. Be sure you see the Flushing Raider logo before downloading. If you need help with the mobile app, please contact Alexis Sharpe at 810-591-1169.

Flushing Community Schools offers a text notification service through School Messenger. These messages can be received in addition to the phone messages. Just text YES to 67587 to sign up. Please be aware of any fees that your cellular provider charges for text messaging.

We truly appreciate your cooperation in helping us create a safe and efficient drop off process for everyone. As a reminder, please remain in the loop for the entire length of the route to help maintain a steady flow of traffic and ensure student safety. If you need to exit your vehicle to walk up to the building and drop off your child, we kindly ask that you park in the designated visitor parking area. Your partnership makes a big difference, and we thank you for helping keep our students safe and our procedures running smoothly.

For the 2026-2027 school year, breakfast and lunch are free for all students. Students may arrive for breakfast at 8:35 a.m. Please fill out and return the “Education Benefit Form Letter” that was sent home with your student at the open house. It is critical that we receive these letters from all families. Thank you for your help in collecting these forms.
