Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve is hosting a blended Teachers on the Estuary (TOTE) middle and high school science and math teacher training on October 27-29, 2021. The first two days are virtual and start at 3pm so you will need only one sub day. TOTE is a teacher training program that explores Authentic Data Literacy and brings coastal research into the classroom. Climate Change Essentials for All Educators

Many educators want to teach climate change but feel unprepared. At Presidio Graduate School, we've developed an empowering, engaging, online certificate program for K-12 educators to help give you the tools and confidence to incorporate climate change education into your classroom, regardless of subject area, grade level, or state requirements.

You'll benefit from our Climate Change Essentials for All Educators course by:

— Engaging with the key tenets of climate science; the human impacts of climate change, particularly for communities of color; and the paths to climate solutions

— Joining a growing community of educators committed to climate change education

— Completing up to 45 hours of professional development in just nine weeks

Our expert facilitators will support you to augment your current curriculum to include climate change to begin shaping the next generation of climate advocates. Professional development hours/continuing education credits are available as well as graduate credit.

Due to generous support from our funders we can offer the course free of charge to teachers who want to take it for professional development hours/continuing education credits. There is a fee for graduate credit and it will be offered at a reduced rate of $384 3 credits for the 9 week course or $448 for the course and continuous learning modules.
