Dear Alta Mesa Families,

Welcome to Kindness Week!!! Kindness Week stretches across the country and is a great opportunity for us to focus on how we treat each other. This is also appropriate as this month at Alta Mesa we are focusing on the 4th habit of the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People"... Think Win-Win. Treating our community with kindness and respect gives everyone a win-win. As parents please check out our Kindness Week dress-up days and activities to help support Alta Mesa. We are also doing a service project this week, if you have any towel or small fleece blankets we will be donating them to Haven Humane society.

I would like parents to be aware we will be practicing a lockdown drill on Tuesday. This will be an unstructured lockdown drill so some Alta Mesa students will be away from their classroom. As parents you can prepare your students for this drill by discussing it with them to ease any potential anxiety. These drills are very important for us to practice so that we are prepared for any circumstance that we need to get students in a classroom quickly.

This looks to be another amazing week at Alta Mesa! Thank you for your continued support!

Ridin' at the Junkyard

Saturday, Jan 27th at 10:30 am to 2:30 pm @ 1416 West Street, Redding

Come ride some premier - and until this event, strictly private - trails in West Redding!

"The Junkyard" is set to become Redding's premier cycling race course and community-centric kickoff to the year. Graciously hosted by a private ranch, this cyclocross-style event will feature a kid's race to start off the festivities, followed by a general race with women's, men's, and junior's classifications.

Lunch is provided after the race - families and spectators eat for free! A raffle will also be available for purchase, with a ticket included with race fee and more available for purchase. Come enjoy the fun, bring your neighbor, bring a bike, bring a cowbell - and bring on the New Year with a fun, family friendly race!
