PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich

Nederland community,

I am up at Copper Mountain Ski Resort for the Colorado State skiing championships. The Nederland team has over 25 participants between Alpine and Nordic competitors.

Over the past 20 years I have been fortunate to see students compete in a wide variety of athletic state championship competitions. Today is a first for me. But it isn’t for Ned. We have a strong tradition of skiers in our town and we will continue to support and field excellent teams. Well I’m out to the slopes to watch our girls compete in the Slalom event and the later I’ll be heading over to the Nordic events. Go Panthers!

Have a great weekend,

Gavan

Celebrations

  • Congratulations to HS Alpine & Nordic for their hard work at the CHSAA State Championships the last two days. As of yesterday, Nederland was 7th Place for Women’s, and 7th Place for Men’s (both Alpine & Nordic results combined). Some notable Panther performances from yesterday included Trinity LeBlanc placing 26th in Giant Slalom, Cedar Shupe placing 33rd in Giant Slalom, and Mackenzie Weber placing 33rd in Skate. Here are (soon to be) updated results for the entire Championship. You all have worked hard and should be very proud of yourselves. Congratulations, Panther Skiers!

  • Good luck to HS Basketball next week. Regular season ends tomorrow and they are competing in the “District Tournament” beginning Tuesday 2/21 to help decide who gets an automatic berth to playoffs. There is a good chance that we will have a home game on Tuesday, beginning at 5:00 pm, but we won’t know for sure until final results are announced on Monday. Stay tuned to Tuesday’s morning announcements!

  • Skylar Abookire performed great at All State Choir at the Buell Theater on Saturday. She was part of the Treble Choir, and she did fantastic. Well done, Skylar!

  • Hey Parents! YOU know that “You Look Good in Stripes”! CHSAA is covering ALL costs to get started officiating and is streamlining the process for signing up. Become an official today. There is a shortage, and your help is crucial to continuing to have high school sports.

  • As many of you have noticed, we installed sports cameras at our field and in our gym over the summer. We had some extensive technical issues with getting the cameras online that the IT Department and NFHS Network had to work together to fix. We finally think (fingers crossed!) that the tech issues have been fixed! Watch our High School Basketball (and other high school games) by subscribing to the NFHS Network! When you subscribe, some of that money comes back to the school to support our athletic programming. This is great for family members who live far away to watch live or just for you to go back and rewatch a game. Many other schools are using this platform too so you can also watch some of the away matches. Subscribe today!

How to report discrimination

Our school community is committed to providing a safe educational environment where all members of our community are treated with respect. As we continue to work on creating more inclusive spaces of belonging, we want to make sure our students and families know about and have access to the BVSD discrimination reporting form. The form can also be accessed under the "Help for Students" tab located at the top banner on every BVSD webpage.

Completed forms are submitted directly to the District's Equity Compliance Officer who then connects with the reporting party and works to make sure appropriate next steps are taken.

If you have any questions about the form or making a report, please contact Elizabeth Francis

Equity Counsel/Title IX Coordinator, Boulder Valley School District at 720.561.8091 or elizabeth.francis@bvsd.org.
