Check It Out!

Welcome March!
Dear Stinson Community,
Can you believe it’s already March? Spring Break is just around the corner, and I’m already dreaming of long afternoons spent reading under a tree. I hope you’re all looking forward to some well-deserved downtime to dive into a great book just for the fun of it.
Things are buzzing in Library Land this month! We have a packed calendar of events and celebrations, including:
The Tournament of Books: Our Top 16 most-checked-out titles are facing off in a March Madness bracket! Help us crown this year's champion.
Women’s History Month: Visit our displays to honor the incredible contributions of women globally.
Special Events: We are gearing up for the NISD Battle of the Books! Make sure to cheer on our team! The Great Book Giveaway and Spring Book Fair: two opportunities to restock your personal shelves!
It’s going to be a busy, book-filled month. Read on for all the details on how you can get involved!

February Recap
February was a short month, but we managed to fit in plenty of excitement. Eighth graders used the SIRS Issues Researcher database to conduct research for their argumentative essays. Sixth and Seventh grade ELA classes go to test their knowledge of poetry conventions with a game called Love Song or Literature. ALE students celebrated the kickoff of Read Across America Month with a reading of Yertle the Turtle by Dr. Seuss, and practiced counting with a turtle stacking game.
