Bellerive Bulletin
October 11, 2026
Dear Bellerive Families,
We had a busy and exciting week at Bellerive! Thank you to everyone who supported our PTO fundraiser at Dewey’s Pizza, celebrated our first fundraising milestone with Pajama Day, represented Bellerive at the Parkway North football game, and volunteered at Clean the Campus Day. Our Roadrunners truly demonstrated Habit 6: Synergize by working together to support our school community!
We are hoping for a slightly slower pace this week as we wrap up the first quarter, but we are excited to launch into our annual Walk to School Day on Friday. Details are included below. Please also remember that Friday is a half-day for teacher records and grading.
Our PTO’s Champions for Children fundraiser has now raised $5,141, which means we reached our second milestone! Students will enjoy a movie on the big screen during lunch soon. Now, let’s keep the momentum going and reach our final $7,000 milestone to unlock the big reward: a student choice day in PE!
In Partnership,
Dr. Joey Kneer

Veterans Day Assembly Invitation
On Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 9:30 am, Bellerive students will attend an assembly about Veterans Day. The theme of our assembly is “Thank You for Your Service.”
If you or someone in your family is a veteran or currently active in the military, we would like to invite you to be honored as our guest. Veterans and active military will have a special seat at this assembly. We would like to honor you and give you our thanks. Due to space constraints, we are limiting guests to veterans and immediate family members.
Any veteran or active military personnel who would like to attend should complete this Google form (click this link or use the QR code) by Thursday, November 5.
If you have any questions, please email Aaron Watson at awatson1@parkwayschools.net.
Unity Day: Celebrate Kindness, Acceptance, Inclusion, and Belonging
Wear Orange Next Wednesday
Bellerive will join schools across Parkway and SSD in celebrating Unity Day on Wednesday, October 21. Unity Day reminds us that small actions can help every student and staff member feel welcomed, valued, and included. Wear orange to show your support for kindness, acceptance, inclusion, and belonging.

REMINDERS
Habits at Home
Last Wednesday your child brought home this month's Habits at Home activity (linked here). These monthly activities give families an opportunity to practice the 7 Habits together at home.
We are adding a little friendly competition this year! The grade level with the highest percentage of participation each month will earn bragging rights and the traveling Habits at Home trophy. The Habits at Home forms are due the Friday before the next (leadership-focused) half-day.
For Habit 2, completed activities are due Friday, November 6. We hope you will Chart Your Path together at home and help your child’s grade level earn this month's trophy!
Attendance Reminder
Before-School Clubs Begin Monday, October 19
Club assignments were sent home last week.
The notification papers included the name and date of the club(s) your child will be participating in.
Reminders:
- Please DO NOT drop off students before 7:55 am as coverage is not available.
- Students will be expected to follow all Bellerive behavior expectations to remain in before-school clubs.
- Attendance is important. Because many students wish to participate, if your child misses more than three sessions, we may need to offer their spot to another student.
- No clubs will be held the week of November 16 due to conferences.
- The last week of clubs will be February 22, 2027.
If you have any questions about clubs, please email Ashley Jelovic at ajelovic2@parkwayschools.net.
Important Car Rider Dismissal Reminders
Car rider dismissal has recently been slowing down, and we need everyone’s help to make dismissal safe and efficient:
Enter the car rider line using the designated route. Please do not make a left turn into the parking lot.
Keep your car rider placard in your vehicle and display it clearly until your child is in the car. We also recommend saving your family number in your phone as a backup.
Remain in your vehicle and pull forward promptly when directed by a staff member.
Please do NOT stop in the line to buckle your child. If assistance is needed, pull forward to the area near the accessible parking spaces.
With nearly 80 cars using the car rider line each afternoon, your cooperation helps us get everyone safely on their way. Thank you for following these procedures!
Celebrating Fall
PTO's Fall Party Assembly
Students will enjoy a fall party assembly at school on the afternoon of Friday, October 30. The World Bird Sanctuary will bring live birds to Bellerive for All About Owls, a fun and entertaining presentation that gives students an up-close look at these amazing animals. This experience is made possible through the support of our PTO. Thank you, PTO!
If you do not wish for your child to participate in this assembly, please email Dr. Kneer (mkneer@parkwayschools.net) prior to Friday, October 23.
Bellerive Celebrations Combined with North High's Track or Treat
Bellerive families are encouraged to attend Parkway North High School's Track or Treat on Wednesday, October 21, and all the details are in the flyer below.
In place of holding a costume parade at Bellerive and rather than encouraging students to wear costumes to school this year, we hope families interested in celebrating Halloween will join us at this fun North area community event.
Dr. Kneer and Dr. Butler are already busy picking out our space-themed Halloween costumes to wear to Track or Treat!
