School Board Monthly Update

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the children, families, and taxpayers of the Upper Darby School District. As part of the School Board communication plan, the Board sends monthly updates to the school community. The information included in these briefs is not intended to be complete and does not replace official Board minutes. Official meeting minutes, agendas, reports, and presentations are available at BoardDocs. Also, the Board meetings are live streamed to the District's Official UDSD Board & Board Committee Meetings YouTube Channel. We welcome you to follow the issues the School Board is considering and to attend meetings to stay informed.

The School Board welcomes Khalid Doulat and Salma Ghorfa as our School Board Student Representatives for the 2022-2023 school year. We look forward to working with them and learning from them as they represent their peers across the District during school board meetings.

Dr. McGarry, Superintendent of Schools updated the board and the public on the follow facilities projects which have been completed or are in progress:

• Phase II of the bathroom improvements at Beverly Hills Middle School
• Tennis court project at Upper Darby High School
• Grass field improvement at Upper Darby High School
• Turf field and track at Drexel Hill Middle School
• Turf field, track, new parking lot, and new retaining wall at Beverly Hills Middle School

• Renovation of the new administration building at 8201 Lansdowne Avenue
• Renovation and expansion of Aronimink Elementary School
• HVAC for high-need buildings is going out to BID with an anticipated completion date of August 2023
• Reviewing off-site stormwater management and related costs for the Clifton Heights Middle School project

These projects are just the larger ones we are working on in the District.
