Wildcat Weekly- 11/3-11/7

Message from Principal Martinez πΎ
Dear Wildcat Families:
We had tons of fun at Pomerado with costumes and an incredible parade! Thank you to everyone who joined us and participated in the fun!
Please donβt forget to turn your clocks back this weekendβwe need everyoneβs help in ensuring our wildcats are present at school and on time. Our classrooms are working on rewards for when their class has 100% attendance and we have already noticed positive progress!
This coming week will mark the end of our first trimester.
Our Wildcat Run is anticipated to be an amazing event and we are super excited to have received 456 donations, totaling up to $18,270. We are 65% to our whole school fundraising goal!
Thank you for your support and dedication to our school, and enjoy a safe and fun weekend!
Go Wildcats!
π Supporting the Sarasin Family π
Our Pomerado community is rallying around the Sarasin family β our wonderful noon duty Mrs. Molly and her 5th grader Caitlin β as their husband and dad, Adam, bravely battles cancer. During this challenging time, we hope to lighten their load and show our love and support.
If youβd like to help, consider donating a DoorDash or Uber Eats gift card, or cozy comfort items like beanies, books or blankets for chemo treatment. The family are big Chargers and Padres fans, so team-themed items are always appreciated! (Donations can be dropped off in the front office).
Please note that Caitlin has asked not to be approached or asked about this at school. Thank you for respecting her wishes and helping her keep school a place of comfort and normalcy.
Letβs continue to surround the Sarasin family with positive vibes, good thoughts, and heartfelt prayers as they navigate this journey together.
Weβre grateful for the kindness and care that make our Pomerado community so special. π

MESSAGE RELATED TO EMERGENCIES AND FIRES
Safety Reminders:
With fire season upon us we want to assure parents and guardians that we have appropriate response systems in place when emergencies arise. Our first priority will always be the safety of our students and staff on campus.
When Pomerado becomes aware of any incidents in the geographic area of the school site, we will focus first on the safety of our campus while working with law enforcement, emergency responders, and the District for guidance and support for communication. Communication with parents is part of the response plan, but will be secondary to immediate safety. As soon as we can, we will message families with details of school-wide incidents such as lockdowns or evacuations. Please ensure your contact information is up to date in ParentVue in the βMy Accountβ section.
Finally, we have been asked by first responders to remind our families NOT to come to campus in times of emergency β there have been several instances when officers, firefighters, and their ability to respond to the emergency have been hindered by parents rushing to the scene. Should an emergency occur, we will send out messages about dismissal or reunification procedures for families when first responders indicate it is safe to do so.
