Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is next week! If your child's classroom teacher is planning to have students exchange valentines, please be sure to follow these school-wide guidelines:
*Sending in valentines is optional.
*If you choose to send in valentines, ensure that there is one for each student in the class.
*Food and candy cannot be sent in as part of the valentine. Small items, such as stickers, pencils, erasers, and temporary tattoos are some options to include with valentines.
Comet Club
As of January, we now have approximately 15% of HCS students participating in the Comet Club. (Congratulations to those students!) We continue to challenge more students to join, hoping that the percentage of participation grows each month, which should correlate to academic growth, as well!

PBIS Corner
What is all this talk about earning pompoms?! You may have heard your child(ren) talk about the pompoms his/her classroom is earning. Students/Classrooms can earn pompoms for being safe, responsible, and respectful around HCS. The key to PBIS implementation is staff consistency. Across the school, staff is looking to reward the positive behaviors we are seeing each day. When a classroom fills their bucket with pompoms, the class earns a reward. To date, we have had 69 classroom rewards!

*100th Day of School: Wednesday, February 12 (unless we have another snow day!)
*Early Release Day for Students: Wednesday, February 12, with dismissal beginning at 11:35 am
*February Vacation: Week of February 17-21
*For adults needing to complete CORI/SORI paperwork, please stop by the main office, at HCS, between the hours of 9:30 am-2:00 pm to do so. A photo ID is required.
