Dr. Anthony's BEAR-y Helpful Tip of the Week
This week, let's tap into the power of YET.
Does your child ever say, βI can't do this!β or βThis is too hard!β? Help them build confidence and perseverance by teaching them the power of one little word: YET!
πͺ Change the language. When your child says, βI can't do it,β encourage them to say, βI can't do it YET!β
π§ Celebrate mistakes. Remind your child that mistakes are a natural part of learning. Ask, βWhat did you learn from trying?β
π Praise effort and strategies. Instead of just saying, βYou're so smart!β try, βI love how you kept trying different ways to solve that problem!β
β€οΈ Model perseverance. Let your child see you work through challenges, make mistakes, and try again.
Success isn't about getting everything right the first time. It's about trying, learning, and not giving up! Every child can grow with practice, encouragement, and perseverance!
