We were thankful to have the New Hanover Police Department observing to give us feedback and their on-going partnership and support.
Remember that there is no school for students on Monday, October 12.

Flying V Spotlight
The Flying V Spotlight recognizes students who truly represent what it means to be a great teammate in PE! These students come prepared, bring energy and enthusiasm, and are always ready to participate. They demonstrate outstanding teamwork, effort, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude while encouraging those around them.
Whether they are learning a new skill, taking on a challenge, or helping a teammate succeed, they consistently give their best and make PE a better place for everyone.
They lead by example, lift up their teammates, and aren't afraid to work hard and have fun along the way.
They train together. They grow together. They fly together.
Congratulations to our Flying V Spotlight students — you make our team stronger!

Animal Friends Club Fundraiser
🎃 The Animal Friends Club will be hosting a fundraiser from October 13–16. Students may purchase a Howloween Gram, which includes a themed note of choice, created by our club members, and a lollipop, for just $1.
Sales will take place from 7:15–7:35 a.m. in the auditorium lobby October 13-16. Howloween Grams will be delivered to students during homeroom on Friday, October 30. This is a fun way for students to surprise someone special while supporting the Animal Friends Club and its efforts to help local animals in need! 🐾
6th Grade Chalk the Walk
Students spent a bit of time on Wednesday working with their teammates and helping beautify the school by "Chalking the Walk." The students did a great job and we hope the rain holds off this weekend so their work can last a bit longer!
Special Presentation for Parents/Guardians
On October 21, all of our students will have the opportunity for a powerful presentation on the impact of bullying and peer relationships through a presentation titled "Ryan's Story."
This presentation is provided every three years and has a positive impact in our community and our students. We are encouraging our parents and guardians to join us the evening of October 20 at Middle School West to see an abbreviated version of this presentation and have a discussion with the presentor, John Halligan. We hope you will join us for this valuable experience.

Loud in the Library is Back!
Overdue Books
Students checked out over 3,300 library books so far this year, there are over 133 books on hold, and there are 161 overdue books. Mrs. Mento loves that the students are reading but would like the overdue books to be returned or renewed. Students receive emails about overdue books every school day. They also receive paper overdue notices on Wednesdays. Parents will receive overdue notices the first Thursday of each month.
Loud in the Library
Boyertown Middle School East's "Loud in the Library" is an interactive, engagement-focused event series hosted by the school library during 10th period on Wednesdays to encourage student interaction. It features activities like chess, board games, and craft-making. These events aim to make the library a lively, community-focused space.

Fall Sports Results
Field Hockey - On 10/7, East played a tough Owen J Roberts. East had numerous opportunities to score but was unable to find the back of the net. Each game the girls compete in they are continuing to grow as a team. On 10/2, tied Upper Perk 2 to 2. Goals were scored by Kenzie Treichler on a break away and Haley Secrest on a tip off of a shot by Norah Rapp.
8th Grade Girls Soccer - On 10/7, The 8th-grade girls soccer team put up a strong fight and showed great teamwork in a tie to OJR, 2 to 2. A highlight was Brooke Childs’ corner kick, which Madison Healy finished with a header for a goal. Although the game ended in a tie, the team gained valuable insight into areas to improve as they continue working toward a successful season. On 10/5, Congratulations to the East Girls Soccer team on their win against Pottstown! The girls demonstrated strong teamwork, smart passing, and confident finishing, creating scoring opportunities and supporting one another throughout the game. Goals came from Brooke, Leighton, London, Taylor, Camryn, Maddie, Piper Cahill, and Charlotte, with Rose adding two! Every player contributed to this team effort, and we’re proud of their hard work, growing skills, and commitment to each other. Go Bears! Lady Bears Soccer was on FIRE Friday 10/2! Congrats to the 8th Grade Girls Soccer Team on their 3–1 win over Upper Perk! Brooke and London traded assists, and Brooke’s corner kick found Madison to help seal the win!
7th Grade Girls Soccer - On 10/7, The 7th-grade team faced a challenging OJR that put their skills to the test. The girls worked hard, supported one another, and showed determination throughout the game. On 10/2, The 7th Grade Bears weren’t messing around either, winning 7–3 over Upper Perk! Savannah started the party with the first three assists, Amelia and Piper Cahill knocked in two goals each, and Camryn, Makayla, and Myla each added one!
8th grade Football - On 10/7, your Boyertown Bears just dropped an absolute THUNDERSTORM on the Phoenixville Phantoms, rolling to a massive 40–0 victory. It was a full‑on Bear takeover. The end zone was basically a revolving door, featuring two touchdowns from Colton Weil, two more from Bryce Haring, and a laser‑beam TD pass from LJ Levengood to Kam Garvey‑White. Just when Phoenixville thought it couldn’t get worse, Jack Bistrek said “I’ll take that!”, blocked a punt, scooped it, and took it all the way down for another score. The offensive line proved to be the engine behind this machine, bulldozing everything in sight, and the entire defense. They locked the Phantoms down so hard they might still be trying to find the end zone this morning.
8th Grade Boys Soccer - On 10/5, Pottstown scored in the first minute, putting the Bears behind 1-0. Seeing the intensity that the Trojans came out with, the Bears decided that they wanted to return the favor. Brecken Troutman led the way, with 4 total goals on the day. Assists came from Archer Canale, Cam Healy, and Beckett Lewin. Cam Healy was close behind him, with 2 goals of his own, and Archer Canale with a solo shot put the boys ahead to a total of 7 for a decisive victory over Pottstown. On 10/2, Coming off a rest day, the 8th grade boys soccer team brought pace, aggression, and intensity to the game. With 7 saves by Braxton Hacker, Brecken Troutman was able to score 2 goals in the first half, assisted by Noah Kumpf and Cam Healy. The boys stayed diligent, and played to their strengths, holding the opposing side to only one score, securing the 2 to 1 win.
7th Grade Boys Soccer - On 10/2, The 7th grade boys soccer team saw the pace set by the 8th graders, and set out with great intensity and drive. With two solo goals from Andrew Kupsis from outside of the 18, they were comfortable at 2-0. Unfortunately, Upper Perk was relentless and came back, scoring off of a corner kick in extra time to secure the win, 3 to 2.
