PS 107 2025 Parent Workshop Series

The Talk: Sex Ed 2.0 A Workshop for Parents - April 22

PS 107 2025 ParentWorkshop SeriesThe Talk: Sex Ed 2.0 A Workshop for Parents - April 22

While we may want to encourage conversations with our children about bodies, babies, gender, boundaries, consent, identity, and beyond, we aren’t always sure what to say, how to say it, or when to begin. When is the “right time” to start talking? How young is too young? What, exactly, should we be talking about at various ages? And how do we begin to tackle the unique challenges confronting kids today?

In this talk for parents and educators, sexuality educator Rachel Lotus will discuss all of this and more. Attendees will leave equipped with actionable steps, practical help with language, and developmentally appropriate resources.

MEET RACHEL LOTUS

Rachel Lotus is a Brooklyn-based educator, speaker, consultant, and the founder and director of The Talk NYC, a one-stop shop for inclusive, progressive sexuality education for people of all ages. She is best known for her transformative workshops for youth, her impactful talks for parents, her trainings for schools, and her warm, frank, irreverent approach to all of the above. She has been featured in The Cut, Judy Blume Forever, Growing Up In Public, CNN, and more. Prior to founding The Talk, Rachel taught middle and high school students in the New York City public school system, where she witnessed firsthand the need for better sex ed. In addition to speaking frankly about sexuality to students, parents, and educators, Rachel also talks often and openly with her own three kids who, like all children, have lots of questions.
