Dear Dr. Green Families,
I hope you enjoyed a great Super Bowl weekend along with your friends and families. This newsletter will highlight the events for the month of February and our ongoing academic plans.
Thank you for attending the Parent Teacher conferences, it meant a lot for our students and teachers knowing that you visited their classrooms and are involved in their education. I hope you had the opportunity to review the academic progress report and the middle of the year math and reading assessment results. These results are important to make assertive educational plans for your children for the rest of this semester. Plans like possible attending afterschool tutoring, attending intersession, or attending our new Saturday workshop program (IMPACT Tutoring) .
In lieu of the 3 weeks of summer school, the district has approved a new tutoring program- IMPACT Tutoring -. Originally, for the 2024-2025 school year, our district had planned summer school from June 9-27 as the plan was to hold a 3 weeks summer school program, instead, our summer program for students 1-5 was reduced to only one week, June 9-13. To make up for the missing hours of the two cancelled summer weeks, we will be holding tutoring sessions from February until the end of April. We at Dr. Green opted to have Saturday workshops for students 3-5 to prepare them for the upcoming STAAR assessments. At the end of April, we will be inviting students in grades 1-2. If your teacher offered this program for your children during the conferences, please send us the permission slip if you haven't done so, as we will begin our Saturday workshop on February 15th.
As we are shifting to STAAR preparation, please note the following: All these programs are by invite only.
- We will continue with our afterschool tutoring
- We will begin our Saturday workshop tutoring sessions
- Our Wednesday's after school clubs will conclude on Wednesday, February 26th as previously planned
- Spring intersession will begin on Wednesday, March 5th
- After spring break our focus will continue to be STAAR preparation

The Spelling Bee will be held on Tuesday, February 11 at 12:30 pm. These students have studied and practiced very hard to be the Spanish spelling bee champions. Good luck everyone!

Our attendance GOAL is: 96% or higher: More than ever we need to improve our attendance, every time your children do not attend school, they are missing on valuable lessons and/or interventions.
