MRHS is launching a Y Achievers Chapter!
MRHS is launching a Y Achievers chapter! The Achievers program is a college prep and career readiness program to motivate underrepresented teens by giving them the support and resources to pursue and achieve their personal, academic, and career goals. The mission is to help teens discover and pursue higher education and career goals by equipping them with the skills and community role models they need to get there. The vision is for every high school youth to have access to college and other career readiness resources through committed leaders and dedicated organizations in the community. Through this program, teens will have the opportunity to:
• Learn about diverse career options and cultures
• Be guided by positive community role models
• Develop confidence and college readiness
• Prepare for college life or a sustainable career
• Earn scholarships and summer internships

Shark Shout Out to Ben Ottino, junior, for two amazing accomplishments:
As a self-motivated student Ben applied and was accepted to the George Mason University Washington Youth Summit on the Environment (WYSE). WYSE is an interactive program that provides high-achieving high school students with an interest in the environment, conservation, sustainability, and related fields with a unique experience exploring careers in these areas. Ben will attend WYSE from June 22-27 representing Monomoy!! Congratulations! Link: https://wyse.gmu.edu/
Ben wrote and obtained a $500 Hyannis Garden Club grant for the MRHS Climate Action Club to build hoop houses to grow produce year round in the garden. In addition, Kade is a leader in the classroom with a 4.47 GPA. He has served as a team captain and reliably supported his teammates throughout the season.
