👟 DaVinci Dash Recap
We are so grateful for your support!
As we near the end of our BoosterThon fundraiser, we are thrilled to share some amazing news with you! Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve raised an outstanding $35,000! On top of that, we also have $7,840 in eligible corporate matching funds, bringing us even closer to our goal.
Thank you for your continued support—it truly makes a difference!
Our school-wide goal is $50,000, which will fund technology upgrades for our library, art, and music classrooms, audio upgrades in our Performing Arts Center, adding much-needed tables and benches under the shade structure, and more. And don’t forget—the students will also get to SLIME TEACHERS & PRINCIPALS if we hit the goal!
To give us one last push, our fundraising platform, MyBooster.com, will remain open for another week. Could you reach out to just one or two more people and help us reach that final milestone?
We cannot express enough how much we appreciate your unwavering support. Whether you’ve donated, volunteered, or helped spread the word, your involvement has made a tremendous impact and truly highlights the strength of our DaVinci Academy community!
Thank you again for everything!
📢 A Note from Antonio
Happy Friday, everyone, and welcome to our first significant break from students this year. As October sets in, and soon the colder weather, we can begin to feel siloed, stagnant, and downright off. I know that I am certainly starting to weather the winter blues, and we aren’t even out of fall yet! I want to acknowledge those feelings and remind you that I am on this journey with you. I hope that you find some time next week to disconnect, recharge, and do things that fill your buckets.
I am so proud of the work being done at DVA each day, and you are the backbone of our organization. I often feel like a broken record saying that, but I also don’t think you hear it often enough. I look forward to hearing the stories of your family connections and many adventures after our time apart.

👍 October's Character Trait
The October character trait is Responsibility
Responsibility for students in school means doing what is expected of them, understanding how their actions impact others, and taking accountability for their actions.
Here are some ways students show responsibility:
- Completing assignments on time
- Respecting classmates
- Taking care of school property
- Making good choices
- Being dependable
Students may receive a character award and recognition for displaying this trait at school during October!

📬 PTO News
Middle School Career Fair
The PTO is thrilled to announce the upcoming Career Exploration Fair on November 8th. The event is designed to inspire and guide our Middle School students in exploring a wide range of career paths. This is a valuable opportunity for students to learn firsthand from professionals in various fields, both traditional and non-traditional. Students will gain insight into day-to-day job activities and see how their classroom learning connects to real-world careers.
We would like to thank all the professionals who have already replied to our request. We are excited to have them join us! We are still seeking professionals from diverse industries, but we are in specific need of individuals who work in the trade industries, or in the arts. If you're interested or know someone who would love to participate, please complete the interest form at http://tinyurl.com/DVACareerDay.

đź“’ Health Office Note
As we move into the colder months, it’s essential to make sure our students are prepared and protected, both in terms of health and comfort. To keep our school environment safe and healthy for all, we’d like to remind you of two important steps you can take to support your student’s well-being during this time.
Ensure Immunizations are Up-to-Date
- The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) requires all school-aged children who are enrolled in school to be immunized or to provide documentation of conscientious objection or medical exemption. Reviews of records have been ongoing, and if your student is missing immunizations, you have been contacted to complete this part of their record.
- Law §121A.15 states that for your student to remain enrolled in school, the school must receive proof of immunizations, objection, or exemption. If your student will be objecting to or exempt from one or more immunizations, they must be selected on the MDH Immunization form, which can be found on the school website. Please note that these forms must be signed and notarized.
Immunizations, objections, or medical exemptions are due Wednesday, November 21, 2024. If they are not completed by this deadline, your student may not be eligible to participate in school until documentation is received.
Solutions for Dry Skin and Chapped Lips
- The cold weather can bring dry skin and chapped lips, making students uncomfortable during the school day. To help alleviate this, we recommend sending your child to school with lotion and chapstick in their backpack. These small items can make a big difference in keeping them comfortable and focused on learning throughout the day.
If you have any questions, please contact the Health Office at (763) 754-6577, extension 1110.
Thank you,
Cassie Johnson, RN
School Nurse
