Physical Education Expands to 2 Unified Classes
Our Physical Education and Special Education Departments are excited to announce that Unified PE now has 2 classes! With the success of the Unified Program at HF and overwhelming student interest and support, these additional class sections further continue HF's North Star of inclusivity.
In Unified PE, students with and without disabilities work together in this inclusive physical education class. As a result, the student partners gain knowledge about the field of special education as they acquire direct experience working with special needs on a day to day basis. Students participate in a variety of units, including individualized fitness, personal and group recreation and leisure, team games and swimming. Unified PE is open to Juniors and Seniors. Learn more about Unified PE and other course offerings here.
More PE News: Students Go Fishing at the Biopond
To start the school year, PE/Health/Driver's Ed students went fishing at the biopond! "The objective was to remind our staff that as we educate our students we want to build memorable moments and encompassing experiences," said Department Lead Mr. Vogel. "As educators, we also want to remember what it’s like to do something for the first time. With fishing some of our teachers were reminded of the patience and time it takes to learn something new."
Tune in: Mr. Vogel will be a special guest on the NHSSCA Podcast this month. You can listen here.

"I've been working with the Village and the Sculpture commission since 2013," said Mr. Petecki. "This is our 3rd sculpture built for the community." Juniors, Prep for the Upcoming PSAT/NMSQT
