This week, students worked really hard over two days of NWEA testing on the computer, they spent a day in the library discussing banned books, and they kicked off their second semester portfolio work. Science- Mrs. Kenney
This week in science, we continued our Chemistry Unit. Students started the week with an endothermic and exothermic reactions lab. Students observed how certain salts interacted with water. Classes used ammonium nitrate, calcium chloride, and water. Then, students learned about the different states of matter. We finished the week with learning about the Kinetic Molecular Theory. Next week, we will continue with our Chemistry Unit and take the Chemistry Summative Test. Social Studies- Mr. Ward
This week in social studies, students worked to define essential vocabulary terms for our Economics unit. Once students completed their vocabulary assignments we looked at three types of taxes: Income, Property, and Sales taxes. Students were able to define them and know what those taxes are spent for. Students then calculated Gross monthly and Net monthly income based on the following deductions: FICA, Fed Income, Medicare.
