Welcome to Second Grade

I am so excited to meet you all!

My name is Ms. Bohannon and I will be your 2nd grade teacher this year!

This is my 14th year teaching in Barnstable. I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, and American Sign Language. I love the beach, Disney, reading, long-distance running, hiking, and gardening.

We are going to have so much fun this year learning math, science, social studies, writing, reading, and more! We will get to know each other, have fun together, and we will all grow and learn together. We will also have an ESL coteacher, Ms. DiLorenzo, in our class during ELA time each day! Her email dilorenzo_sophia@mybps.us if you want to connect with her ahead of the school year. We can’t wait to meet you on the first day of school on Wednesday, September 2nd.

Allergy Note

To provide a welcoming and safe environment for all, please read the allergy safe S'more newlsetter here. I will also be resending this separately right after this newsletter is sent and again the day before school begins to make sure everyone has been able to read it. These limitations apply only to food eaten within the classroom; students are free to eat any snack or food item they wish inside our school cafeteria. Please let me know if you have questions.

If you are unable to purchase any or all of the items, please just send a quick email (bohannon_melissa@mybps.us) and we will make sure that every student has what they need for a successful school year.
