Proviso West Homecoming 2024

Proviso West is excited to celebrate Homecoming 2024 with a series of events running from September 30 to October 5. During this week, students are encouraged to show their school spirit by participating in themed Spirit Week activities. On Friday, October 4, the excitement will ramp up with a pep rally, where students and faculty will come together to build enthusiasm for Homecoming. The celebration continues on Saturday, October 5, with a parade and the football games. The Sophomore football game Kick off is 11am and the Varsity football game begins at 1:15pm. At 6:30pm the highly anticipated Red Carpet Homecoming Dance will begin. Supporting our football teams and participating in these events demonstrates our pride in Proviso West, as well as our strong sense of community, school spirit, and involvement from family, friends, and alumni. We encourage everyone to come out and support our students, athletes, and the school. Thank you!

Parents at Proviso West

September has been a busy month for students and parents alike at Proviso West, with many parents actively participating in various events. Highlights included Bring Your Parent to School Day, Back to School Night, and the virtual Family Leadership Institute workshop. These events were designed to foster positive parent engagement, provide valuable information, and give parents the opportunity to experience the school environment firsthand while connecting with staff, teachers, and administrators. This involvement helps strengthen the partnership between families and the school community.

Proviso West in the Community

The Proviso-Leyden Council for Community Action Inc. (PLCCA) recently held their "Bridging the Gap" parade and resource fair, an event focused on supporting and uplifting the community. Numerous organizations participated, offering valuable information and resources to ensure that assistance is readily available and accessible to all. The event featured food trucks, entertainment, and a kids' fun zone, making it an enjoyable experience for families. We are thrilled to continue our partnership with PLCCA, an organization that plays a vital role in supporting the Proviso community.

The Glen Ellyn Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in partnership with Proviso Township High Schools District 209, hosted a successful College and Career Readiness Fair on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Proviso West Field House. The event was well-attended, with over 60 representatives from colleges and trades sharing valuable information with local high school students. This event was a great benefit to the Proviso community, providing students with direct access to resources and guidance to help them explore post-secondary education and career paths. Proviso West High School emphasized the importance of partnering with organizations to create more opportunities like this for both students and the broader community.
