MSVMA All-State Jazz Choir
The MSVMA All-State Jazz Choir ensemble is an audition ensemble open to high school choral students across the state. Only 20 students are accepted into the ensemble each year, and Kalamazoo Central High School had 3 student accepted into the choir this year! Congrats to Courtney Gardner, Ray Dunn, and Aaron Anderson, and their director, Julie Pelligrino-Hartman, on this incredible accomplishment!
MSBOA All-State Middle School Orchestra
Congratulations to Maple Street 8th grader, Malaika Sow, and 7th grade student, Mylo Chow, who were both accepted into the MSBOA Middle School All State Orchestra. They won the spot by blind audition and earned their position in the top middle school string orchestra in the state of Michigan this year. They will perform on January 25th at the Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids.

Music Teachers host WMU Pre-Intern and Intern Teachers
Many of our KPS Music Teachers hosted music students as "pre-interns" and "interns" from Western Michigan University. These students observe classroom instruction and get to practice teaching lessons in a classroom setting for the first time. Thank you for leading and influencing the next generation of teachers!
