Major's Minute
Church, there has been so much happening lately that it's almost too hard to capture all the memories and share them all with you. This week's newsletter is trying to capture the last two weeks. There is so much more that is shared in between photos. In person, during Bible study, hanging out after church playing Uno, coming early to have great discussions at Sunday school, volunteering, and being in communication with each other during the week. We pray that God continually puts on our hearts to spend time with Him in His Word and with each other. From volleyball on Thursday ... we want not only to live, but to have life abundantly. Nourished. Growing. Bearing fruit.
Psalm 1:1-3
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
There are so many events again happening in May! Please see all of the flyers below!! :)

We're going to the finals! We need your help to get there!
Please support and spread the word for the fundraisers!
The Encore (Singing group, piano, and guitar soloist) group worked hard to win at the divisional level. They are now able to compete at the finals against the 13 most western states during the Commissioning Weekend. Will you help us raise funds to get there? The families have worked out fundraisers but really need your help to make these successful. Even if you can't make it to the fundraisers - all donations will help. Will you please spread the word, come to the fundraisers, and even help at these events? We need this community to make it happen. Thank you in advance for your support and prayers.
Calling all men for a service day at camp and great food!
Let your loved one enjoy a week at summer camp!
Summer Camp is always a great week for youth to enjoy the outdoors, being away, and meeting new friends. Many decisions for Christ are made before the age of 13. The Salvation Army camping program is a great way for the youth to have a great time encountering God for the first time or encouraging them in their faith as they learn new skills. There are enough camper scholarships this year to send another 40 kids to camp - for just the registration fee of $50. Will you take advantage of this opportunity and sign up? Slots per camp are limited. Contact us asap through the following link: https://form.jotform.com/243383958204159

A great opportunity to learn and grow in volleyball!
Commissioning tickets are out -- prayers still needed.
As we all know, Commissioning is coming!! Commissioning Events will be held at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, June 13-15. This is the weekend when Salvation Army Cadets will be ordained as Salvation Army Officers (pastors). Please keep the weekend in your prayers.
The theme for last year’s congress, Testify, was designed to encourage each one of us to tell more people about Jesus, more often. The most effective way of sharing about Jesus is to tell your own story. Over the next 20 weeks we will be sharing with you a short “testimony” video from the leadership team of the Territory, and our cadets who will be commissioned as officers this year.
Feel free to share these with others as encouragement, and share your own story. (If you are not sure what your story is, or are searching for the answers to your spiritual questions please talk to any officer)
This week's testimony is Lt. Colonel Jennifer Wild:
