Please remember that this week and next week will be shortened weeks for your students with Friday being a Professional Learning day for staff, and the following Monday & Tuesday being a staff & student holidays. Enjoy the extended weekend! Take time to rest, recharge, and come back ready to finish October strong.

End of the first grading period-October 9

We are coming up to the end of the first nine weeks of the school year. Students, please make sure that you are aware of all of your upcoming deadlines for coursework as the last day for coursework this quarter is this Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Students please ensure that you are utilizing ALL remediation opportunities, seeking out your teachers for help, and maximizing tutorials during Trail Blazer Time, and morning and afternoon tutorials.

The end of the first quarter is also the next UIL eligibility check where UIL eligibility can be regained if students are now passing all of their classes and UIL eligibility can also be lost at this check point. For any UIL eligibility questions, please reach out to your coach/sponsor.

Attendance Matters for Course Credit

All absences, excused and unexcused, count toward the state’s compulsory attendance law. When a student's attendance rate drops below 90%, the student may earn credit for the class or a final grade by completing a plan approved by the principal. All absences can easily be submitted in the form at the top of our campus website. Learn more about the attendance policy.

Avoid Truancy

Always submit a note within 3 days of an absence (doctor or parent note). Unexcused absences can lead to truancy actions, including letters, meetings, or court involvement.

Use the "Report an Absence" function on the Lebanon Trail website.

SB12 update for Health Services effective 10/6

Details can be found @ https://www.friscoisd.org/departments/health-services/routine-health-services-consent Senate Bill 12, which became effective law on September 1, 2025 requires school districts to seek parental consent from parents for health services provided to students. After receiving clarification from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), school districts can seek parental consent under Senate Bill 12 through a selective opt-out option. This means that moving forward, parental consent for routine services is presumed unless a parent chooses to opt-out of a particular routine health services offered by the school district. Parents can view their consent status for Physical Health Services and Mental Health Services in the Home Access Center. Access the HAC Help page. Please reach out to ISRegistration@friscoisd.org if you have any questions about how to view the status.

...in a nutshell, moving forward, parental consent for routine services is presumed unless a parent chooses to opt-out of a particular routine health service offered by the school district.
