Thank You!

As we head into the final week of the school year, there's a mix of excitement and reflection in the air! It's hard to believe how quickly this year has flown by, and we're so incredibly proud of all the growth, learning, and friendships your children have experienced. This last short week is packed with special activities and a chance to celebrate their achievements before they embark on their summer adventures and, for some, transition to middle school.

Speaking of which, the 5th grade graduation ceremony is at 9:30 on Monday morning. 4th graders will attend and any sibling of a 5th grader may also sit with their parents.

The last day of school in Tuesday, June 17, and we will be dismissed at 12:30.

Thanks for sharing your children with us! Reiche Rocks!

Know What Your Students are Doing On Line

In today's increasingly digital world, it's more important than ever for parents to be actively involved in monitoring their children's online activities. The internet offers incredible educational and social opportunities, but it also presents potential risks, from exposure to inappropriate content to cyberbullying and privacy concerns. We encourage all parents to have open conversations with their children about responsible online behavior, establish clear family guidelines for internet use, and regularly check their children's online interactions and the websites they visit. Tools like parental control software and privacy settings can be helpful, but the most effective defense is ongoing communication and a trusting relationship with your child. By working together, we can ensure our students navigate the digital landscape safely and responsibly. The district sent out a letter linked below recently about people infiltrating common apps/sites that our students visit, making this issue all the more important. Limiting screen time is important and knowing what they are doing when they are on screens is even more.

End of Year Projects

Third graders and first graders from Ms Graves’ and Ms Liebling's class shared their final projects for the year. First graders shared their realistic drawings and information about birds. Third graders had to guess which birds were described. Third graders shared their research about frog adaptations and their frog sculptures. Students listened to each other carefully and were proud of their work!

Field Day!

It was a perfect day for Field Day! The weather was awesome, 5th graders were so helpful running stations, and kids' spirits were high! Thanks to Coach Wing for your hard work! Good job to the teachers too who finally beat the 5th graders in tug-of-war for the first time in years.

First Grade Fun

This week, the first grade got to go to Maine Wildlife Park this week, and they saw some great animals including the Moose pictured. They had planned to go the previous week, but their transportation was cancelled. The 1st grade team and their chaperones pivoted to look for birds at Deering Oaks Park. Shout out to Amina who brought them all popsicles!
