Pierce Families,

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and everyone one of your active participating in parent-teacher conferences! Your presence and engagement made the event truly meaningful and productive. You had the opportunity to discuss your child's strengths, progress, and areas for growth with their teacher. Your valuable insights and questions demonstrated your commitment to your child's education, and we appreciate your collaborative spirit. Together, we can provide the best possible education and support for your child's development. We look forward to continued collaboration and a successful academic year ahead.

Just as a reminder, we have our new visitor management system in full gear! All visitors to the building (who will be leaving the front office) must bring their ID with them to sign in. This includes all parent volunteers - anyone in the building. This is a new requirement within all BPS schools. We will scan your ID. Then, once cleared, we will print a visitor nametag which must be worn and clearly visible. Thank you for helping us to make Pierce a safer environment for your child(ren)!

Speaking of student safety, please review the car line reminders included in this newsletter. We've observed some unsafe practices and want to make sure we are following our stated procedures. Thank you for your attention to this!

Finally, Thank you to all of our Pierce Family Veterans! We are thankful to all of our Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Siblings of our Pierce Panthers who have served. We appreciate all of the gifts we are given everyday for the sacrifices our veterans have made.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,

Kate Martin

Are "learning styles" real?

People are different. People think and feel differently about learning. They have different strengths, and they definitely learn and process what they've learned differently. Many have been taught that everyone's learning style is directly linked to key areas of their brain. Some say that there are 7 learning styles: kinesthetic, visual, verbal, aural, interpersonal, mathematical, and intrapersonal. So where is the truth, and where is the myth?
